  • All time favorite comic book character. I don't have a problem with his recent "Wolverine Publicity". It's a good time to be a Deadpool fan.

  • Spidey has always been central to my childhood. His action figures were some of my first, his comics were the first comics I ever read. It's a shame he's been really screwed over latley (OMD, OMIT)

  • Watchmen- the greatest story ever told in comics. Rorschach was my favorite character from the graphic novel- his inabillity to see the grey morallity of the world made me want to learn more about him, and his psyche issues deepen the narrative all together. And he is so wonderfully quotable.

  • Oh come on, she's hillarious. You know it. You do.

  • Always did like Steve, and he finally pulled ahead of Stark on my favorite character list during the Civil War. I still stand by the Anti-Registration movement, and now that Cap's back, and is just Steve Rogers, he's even more awesome than before.

  • I don't know why, but Kitty Pryde has always been my favorite X-(wo)Man. I think it might be the powers. Or the pet dragon. Or how much Joss Whedon likes to use her. Or maybe it's the pet dragon.

  • Iron Man has really redeemed himself since going all "Fourth Reich" on us back in Civil War. His film series, brain bleach session and the recent Invincible Iron Man series have let him pull back on top.

  • Yeah, he's a really new character, but this idea is so nuts and awesome, I can't NOT love it to death.

  • Another hillarious idea like Hit-Monkey, but this one's become a recurring joke between me and my friends.

  • Yup, Terry. I really liked Batman: Beyond, and I prefer Terry to Bruce, Dick AND Jason. I know who really should have won the battle for the cowl after Infinite Crisis.

  • Another character I just like. Shame he went from being my favorite new X-Men, to being Magneto, to having the most ridiculous and confusing ret-con ever, to being dead AND depowered.

  • All the awesome of Batman. All the awesome of doggies. All the awesome of comics. Put them together and you get Ace the Bat-Hound, proving that Bruce Wayne is kind of a jerk. Why would you put your dog in clothes like that: where's the diginity?!?

  • Another great villain, and one of Super-Man's only decent rouges- Doomsday actually managed to kill him. Could you imagine how hard it must be for him to get a job- "Your resume says you... killed Superman?" "Yes" "... Isn't Superman alive right now?" "...Yes..."

  • Tick Tock- Feed the Croc! I always like Killer Croc, he was just monsterous enough to feel in-place with other DC Characters while still feeling like a real Batman rouge. He's also become really massive and hulky latley, making him a great replacement for Bane.

  • When Thanos comes to screw with the Marvel Universe, he requires huge cross-overs to accomedate him. He's one of the Universe biggest and baddest villains, even Dr. Doom agrees he must be stopped- and as long as he exists, Deadpool will be alive, which only makes him better.

  • Most people assume Man-Thing is just a rip-off of Swamp Thing, but that's not actually true. Man-Thing came first, he just couldn't talk. Between his more intresting design and hillariously unfortunate name, Man-Thing just manages to come out on top of his DC competitor.

  • The naked blue avatar of "Overpowered" Dr. Manhattan is a brilliant deconstruction of overpowered capes like Superman, and his impartiallity and coldness to existance makes him one of the most memorable characters in Watchmen.

  • Dude played basketball with Godzilla. He DESERVES to be on this list.

  • Daaaw. It's my favorite character as a puppy. That's freaking adorable.

  • Yeah, another Alan Moore character. I'm not one of those people who think V should be hero worshiped- the way Alan Moore writes him, the way a man who is clearly evil not only earns our sympathies, he earns our support. Sure he's the lsser of two evils but it's a testament to Mr. Moore's writing talent that a character like V is even on this list, much less the top 20.

  • Howard used to be great. He was funny. Then his awful movie destroyed him and his reputation- know he's way too obscure. Howard needs to be in more things.

  • Universe hates Waspinator. Poor guy, most his appearance ends up with him laying dead somewhere. He's one of those villains that you love because of how hard they suck at their jobs- he's like the Stiltman of Transformers.

  • Pet Dragon for the win!

  • Whenever I played the old X-Men arcade game I always had to be Nightcrawler. He kind of sucked in the game but the nostagic attachment remains.

  • Ready for this? You might need to sit down. I. LIKE. RED HULK. Sure most his stories have been really bad, but the Code Red story was fun, and the new series post #24 is really looking up. Rulk is just a fun charcter who gets alot of hate because of some really bad writing.

  • The master of fear, Scarecrow has always been an intresting villain who could do some real damage, regardless of what foe he's facing. It's just a shame the comics havn't adopted his Arkahm Asylum costume yet, his usual ones kind of suck.

  • He's Marc Spector. He's Steven Grant. He's Jake Lockley. He's... hoping that his meds kick in so he is only one person at a time.

  • The massive alien dragon with the ridiculous name- Fin Fang Foom is a relativley ignored character with some serious cross over potential. It's odd that my favortie Foom moment is from Ultimate Alliance and his attack on the engine on the Hellicarrier.

  • Plastic Man is what Mr. Fantastic would be if Mr. Fantastic was awesome. Plus, if he was smart like Reed, he'd totally cure cancer. Unlike some people.

  • He's going to bring armeggeddon, and he's not happy about. Red's one of the most reckognized comic book characters not from Marvel or DC, and he's even managed to get two movies. Let's hope a third film is on the way.

  • I don't know why, but I've always like A-Bomb over the other main "Hulks". Rick has a more snarky personallity, but maintains his morallity where some Hulk characters are as stable as Stpehen-Marc Lockley up there.

  • Another personal favorite- Blackheart is one sadistic monster. Sure he's not, One More Day sadistic like his dad, he's a more enjoyable sadistic- like choose whether Nightcrawler or Jean Grey dies kind of sadistic.

  • Wolverine's "Clone Sister" is like the Marvel Harley Quinn. She began life in the (excellent) X-Men: Evolution cartoon, and was transferred into the comics... where they promptly made her a prostitute. At least they've redeemed that bit of stupidity and she was a member of X-Force for a while.

  • Jonah Hex- he's a cowboy. He's a time traveler. He's pretty awesome, and the era (most) his stories take place in are a time period mostly untouched by other Comics. Seriously, we need more Civil War (No, not that other one) and Western comics.

  • Scott Pilgrim lives in a video game world, which qualifies him for this list on it's own, but his progression as a charcter is what cements him as one of my favorite comic book characters.

  • Brown is still my favorite Robin. She was a great change in pace and has really earned a place amongst the Bat-Family, despite some intense fan scorn.

  • Gorilla Grodd, the criminal mastermind ape that occasionally fights with a combat spoon. Do I need to say anymore.

  • Rhodie is one of the most beloved heroes of all time. War Machine was one of the first African America superheroes without his race in his name, and frequently does more damage than his best friend ever could.

  • It's my favorite character- as a woman. Plus, Deadpool Corps is one of my favorite comics around right now.

  • Doctor Strange is another great character that could use his own ongoing. The good Doctor can deal with threats it would take whole teams to defeat, but I wouldn't trust him to give me a checkup.

  • Lobo was meant to be a parody of the 90's anti-hero, and he was a great one. Unfortuanatley he got acclaimed as one of the greatest 90s anti-heroes. Oh well, he who fights monsters, right?

  • Hit-Girl is hillarious, spewing off lines so vulgar, Duke Nukem would probabley blush, and she's just a ten year old girl.

  • Because Rorscach was based on the Question, alot of why he's so enjoyable comes from here- sadly, alot of it dosn't. The things that matter the most to me with Rorschach arn't here, and I'll never be able to see him (her) as PG-13 Walter Kovacs.

  • Kick-Ass was another hillariously over the top parody character, and one I like for reasons unknown to me.

  • Carnage has always been my favorite symbiote, there's something about his total chaotic and destructive nature that goes against everything Spider-Man represents. It's like the Joker and Batman, but with a more likable protaginast and less likable villain.

  • Alfred, the loyal buttler of the Bat-Family, is one of the most awesome characters in comics. He's just a regualr old dude, and he puts up with Bruce Wayne's crap and does it all with an awesome british accent. Awesome.

  • And it only took 46 better characters before we got here. Hard to believe, ain't it?

  • He played basketball with Charles Barkley once, y'know. Awesome.

  • He's Deadpool, but smaller. With lightsabers. And he watches Pokemon. Awesome.

  • Hank Pym is one of the best scientists in the Marvel Universe, and he's done alot ot influence the changes it goes through. He hit his wife once, but that's a long story and greatly blown out of proportion. Now, the Ultimate unvierse Hank DOES beat his wife. Not Awesome.

  • Metallo- the Kryptonian Termiantor! He's gone from haunting James Cameron's dreams to haunting Superman's!

  • Not really a comic book character, but Cthulhu is pretty awesome. Even if he is so minor in the Cthulhu Mythos itself. And under Aquaman's control sometimes.

  • Gargan's always been a fun character. He used to be a great "B-List" Spider-Man foe to pull out in games and cross-overs. Then he got the symbiote and now he's a better Venom than Eddie Brock ever was.

  • Ah, Nite Owl- the closest thing Watchmen has to a hero. Like Rorschach and Dr. Manhatten, he's an excellent deconstruction of another superhero type- the gadget guy, more specificly The Blue Beetle.

  • I always liked Surtur. I still wish he was in Ultimate Alliance instead of Ymir. We need a real sequel to MUA too. An original universe-spanning one, not a recreation of a story line. What were we talking about.

  • I like Ymir too, I just like fire more than ice. Sorry duder.

  • It's my favorite character as a rotting head. With a helicopter hat. Awesome.

  • The psycho Batman villain that cuts himself after each kill is one of Wayne's darker villains, and one that has had some really good moments. Like all of his appearance in Akrham Asylum.

  • Of course he-Bizarro is this high on the list, He is are be Bizarro.

  • Magneto has always been an intresting character. He just want what he thinks is best for his people, but whether his methods go to far or not is completley debatable, and that somehow makes him a more intresting villain.

  • What can I say about Swamp Thing that his theme song can't? Nothing. Swamp Thing. You are amazing.

  • I always liked Punisher too. Even Frankencastle.

  • Yeah. His name is the Animal-Vegetable-Mineral Man. Case closed.

  • SHAZAM!

  • Deathstroke- the inspiration for my favorite character of all time. He was great in Teen Titans, even if they were to scared to use the name "Deathstroke the Terminator".

  • I don't know why I've always like Booster Gold either. Skeets is pretty cool, but Booster should really irritate me and somehow... he dosn't.

  • Devil Dinosaur should be in more things, working to return the world to Jurassic Values. He's an evil dinosaur, that's just perfect book-selling material.

  • All the fun of the zombie apocalyps All the fun of superheroes= way to many mini series.

  • When Galactus come knocking, the entire world needs to respond in force. Galactus is another villain awesome enough to force all our favorite heroes together to defeat him.

  • He's really only here because he ushered in the era. He kind of sucks, honostley.

  • MODOK is hillarious. Somehow he's in Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, but still...
