Would something of value be lost?

@xwraith: Yes, those are from Warhammer, they are one of the primary races.

Imagine the Dark Side of the Force, only there is no Light to it (only a Grey side if that makes any sense). Its sentient, extremely inteligent, masterfully manipulative force fueled by negative emotions like hatred, despair, lust and cunning, as well as corresponding positive ones like bravery, friendship, love and hope respectively. You fall to it once, there is no coming back. No redemption, no salvation. Your soul is forfeit to the Dark Gods. That is Chaos.

@dragonborn_ct: I can see where you're coming, but I also feel that...well...just listen to this.

Yes Bayonetta was designed by a woman known as Mari Shimazaki. That being said Bayonetta was still written to be overtly sexual. Mari only worked on the character design of Bayonetta, she didn’t work on the writing or on the animation of the game. Since Bayonetta was designed by a woman, is it now okay that she is acts very sexual? It seems like some people think so.

The argument can be made that Bayonetta uses her sexuality to be empowering or that it’s simply there for titillation. I personally believe that all the dancing and sexualization was there just for titillation, but what Bayonetta did in the game showed that she was insanely powerful. She was the most powerful person in the game who brutally destroys angels effortlessly. She later shows compassion when Cereza(a little girl) becomes part of the story and when she learns more about Jeanne.

I personally did not enjoy Bayonetta because it featured a sexualized female protagonist. Bayonetta was enjoyable to me because it’s one of the best playing action video games ever made. The combat system was deep and rewarding. The bosses were fun and challenging. The story was surprisingly interesting. It’s one of the most enjoyable action games you can ever play.

Everything about the game is extremely over the top. From her attacks to her actions. She can summon giant demons or contraptions to destroy her enemies. At the same time the game has this other side to it. She dances sexually, the game is riddled with plenty of gratuitous camera pans up and down her body, you can unlock skimpy costumes for her, and most of her special moves reveal more of her skin when activated. it can be sickening when you step back and examine these more questionable things that ultimately feel unnecessary. The game would have been great even without this sexualization.

Bayonetta now falls into this weird limbo of not being regarded as a strong female character in gaming. She is definitely physically and mentally strong, but when it comes to the more exploitative aspects of the game, that her status as a good female character in gaming is brought down substantially.

Not a good thing when girls look up to and inspire only to dress up as an sexual object. It doesn't help when characters like Samus Aran have been redesigned into shallow sexualized version of themselves who no longer resemble the original. You can say as much shit about characters like this being just strong women comfortable with their sexuality, or just being silly tongue in cheek jokes on the problem of over sexualized women in games. It doesn't change the fact you're still gonna have guys wanking off to it, and girls are going to continue to be convinced this is what it means to be the ideal strong woman.

You know, I can kinda get where you are coming from as well... Why don't you look at the recent Jimquisition episode and see what does he have to say about that?

@jwwprod: Ooooh I wasn't familiar with them :D Where are they being featured tho?

Well you know the universe I created with Jon Anger the Bear right?

Well these guys are kind of like the supreme gods of that universe, they are three members of the omnipotent race called the Prophecies and not only that but they are the most powerful one as well only behind the Over-Prophecy (TOAA of the universe I created).

I did that picture over a year ago and I was planning on remaking it soon.

EDIT: Your also probably wondering that they are like right?

You know it has been such a long time I remember it, I dont even know what was the story you were creating :/

Who are they btw?

Well I did mention the Prophecies on the RPG page for Jon Angar the Bear and on I mentioned Celesture on Reficul's RPG page and I mentioned the prophecies when I was talking out the origins of the Breath to BumpyBoo on this thread.

The Prophecies are kind of like abstracts in a way but way more pwerful.

There are like 20 to 30 Prophecies altogetaher, the three you see here (Celesture, Darlactica & Seraner) are the most powerful (say for there farther the Over-Prophecy).

I will explain more about them soon.

Oooh okay. I never even visit the RPG section but I will check them out soon enough ;)

@dragonborn_ct: Are you reading any comics at the moment? If so, what are you reading? And out of that, which series is your favorite? :D

I am not reading anything new at the moment. Lets just say the last comics I've read a little while ago haven't been that good *cough* Dejah of Mars *cough* I am looking forward to Django/Zorro and John Carter's Warlord of Mars from Dynamite ;)

@dragonborn_ct: The whole debate on whether she's a positive or negative for women in video games.

For real tho, she is one of the most epically powerful female characters in gaming ever. She doesn't have to rely on men for anything and is undoubtly independent. She is sexualized yeah, but the female form is nothing to be ashamed of and doesn't have to be hidden. Even some of the most memorable and best female characters in games are conventionally attractive. Sexualization in fiction doesn't equal objectification.

@jwwprod: Heh I could try it. Not much into survival horror, but I don't think it could have been that bad.
