Things I would like to see in the New 52

With the New 52 eight months in I thought I'd post a few things I'd like to see in its future.

New Titles

I would like to see Shazam get his own title after his origin re-imagining is done in The Curse of Shazam in the back of Justice League. This would only happen if the character proves popular enough but I would be more than happy to see fresh takes on his villains as I see a lot of potential there.

Another title I would like to see is Earth 3. DC are already planning to release Earth 2 so there is obviously still the multi-verse so why not do a series based around the Crime Syndicate of Earth 3? I'd really like to see a New 52 version of the Crime Syndicate and this could be the first title following the group.

Characters

Personally I'd like to know where Stephanie Brown is, the status of Tempest, Aqualad, Tula or Lorena Marquez. Wally West should make an appearance at some point and there are still a wide range of villains that need to be explored in the new continuity. With Aquaman I'd like them to revisit some classic villains that haven't appeared since his first volume such as O.G.R.E. and Xen the Aquarium Owner but I won't hold out hope for either of them.

Artwork

I'm not a huge fan of the artwork in Wonder Woman, a bit too cartoony compared to other titles, even though I'm loving the character designs a lot of the artwork falls flat in my eyes.

Do you agree with what I've said? What would you like to see? Sound off below in the comments.

I'd like to see some streamlining of the character designs.

In trying to make the characters more "modern", Jim Lee's designs made them more "90s Image" and less Iconic.

The Flash is the case in point her. As someone who's powers are based on speed, you'd imagine an extremely streamlined design. Unfortunately, it's now cluttered up with lightning bolts, the most egregious of which are plastered all over his boots. If the idea with the Justice League core team was to make them more regal and iconic, Batman's chest jaggies, Superman's overdone seams, and the Flash's lightning bolts distract from that goal.

Plus, since timeliness is a concern in the new 52, these designs sure aren't doing the artists any favors.

@Crash_Recovery: That's the other thing actually, with characters like Batman and Superman there are a number of comics that they appear in with different artists' interpretations, Poison Ivy appeared in the latest Batman: The Dark Knight looking very different to her appearance in Birds of Prey. I also couldn't tell you if Detective Comics, Batman, Batman and Robin or Batman: The Dark Knight are meant to be occuring at different times or are all happening at once, so some form of continuity would help.

I know what you mean about the Flash's costume, I'm not a fan of the lightning bolts all over it, one on his chest is enough.

I don't read DC, but I've loved the WW scans I've seen. It's different and seems to invoke a pictoral grit to her character.

I really want to see Tempest, Aqualad, Donna Troy and Wally! but especially Garth! and hope they don't make him lame or kill him off! I prefer garth than Jackson too!

@garrettsgonewild: @Doomlurker: Garth/Tempest was confirmed in Red Hood & The Outlaws. I think Scott Lobdell said he wanted to use Aqualad (Jackson), but someone else had plan's for him. and I think Grant Morrison might be doing something with Cass Cain. I also think Francis and Brian (Current writers of The Flash) just submitted a story to re-introduce Wally. So for now the only chacters that are shelfed are Donna Troy, Stephanie Brown, and Lorena.

I do like the idea of giving Earth 3 a comic :D

I would to see Plasticman getting a New 52 comic that is not serious nor dark nor gritty

@ShrimpDino: After what they did to Captain Marvel, I wouldn't be surprised if DC debuted a dark and gritty Plastic man.

@Comiclove5: I think Stephanie Brown has been mentioned to be appearing at some point too. Can't remember where I read it... Any idea when these other characters will be showing up?

@Deadcool: Capes as part of their outfits. E.g. what they did to Black Adam's costume.

@royale_with_cheese: Oh, I get it, I thought that ypu had something against the Cape-Comics, but yeah, that sounds better.

Not at this time. Plus I just found out DC plans their stories a year or 2 in advance. So if that Wally re-introduction gets approved, we might not see it until late next year/2014. :(

I would love to see Aqualad, Aquagirl, and Tempest in the DCnU as well. I think they are all great characters on their own and add plenty to the Aquaman mythos.

Tempest is joining the outlaws or just making an appearance?

Would be awesome if we could get a sort of Titans book, starring Tempest, Donna and Wally and maybe Nightwing can join and be leader... but yeah so not gonna happen

For Static they should've borrowed elements from the TV Series (The theme, rogues gallery, etc) and make it more street oriented.
