Oh, please God no. Anyone and everyone who loved, loves or will ever come to love the Sandman in all its intricacies should stand up immediately against a Sandman movie. There is simply no way for the true essence of the books to be properly transformed onto the screen. We cannot trust anyone not to screw it up.
I think that doing a sequel to 300 is a bad, bad idea. The original work was great and should be left to stand on its own for what it was, that being a reasonable, though strange adaption of the sacrifice made by the Greeks at Thermopylae.
As far as the releasing too many too soon, it's basically a money grab to me. However, have been some genuinely great films like Iron Man, which of course made a lot of money, but also were well done. I don't mind so many superhero movies if the movie team, especially the director, actually takes the time to read the history of the characters and not throw something completely out of left field. Teamwise, I donno. I never was so much an Avengers fan as I am for JLA so I say surprise me with a well done movie, and let's see where it takes us.
Are you kidding me? A renowned anime director with a history of great films consisting of well crafted characters and plotlines along with having top actors/actresses AND backed by Disney? Where do I sign up?
A great interview. Thinking of Fraggles brings back some nice memories. Haven't heard too much about Mouse Guard altough the character representation reminds me in part of the animals used by Neil Gaiman within a Sandman issue. Off to find out about Mouse Guard.
