The rehashing of the lines from the movie was just awful. And the guy voicing Stark makes him sound extremely sleazy. I couldn't actually differentiate between the male voices.

@mrpandopool: What you're saying here might turn out to be true, but you have to admit everything you wrote above is still quite a stretch. The problem is Quesada just punched the reboot button with OMD and didn't explain jack sh*t, because "it's magic" and now it leads to confusion. That's annoying.

The book certainly has dropped in quality, but still not the worst out there. My biggest complaint right now is the new form of Beast and the way he's drawn. Even when he's outside, there's a constant shadow on his forehead. Not to mention the weird ears. On some panels he looks like Nosferatu with blue fur.

@VaizD: The problem is, that One More Day messed a whole lot of things up they never bothered to clarify. This new Spider might be that crazy thing made out of the small spiders that came out of Pete's old body, but that was supposedly eaten by birds, but it left a cocoon behind. Maybe it's that. Still if Peter refused the spider he never would've crawled out of his cocoon. As I said, this revival of the 'Other' is just really confusing.

I have to say I'm who didn't just flat out hate Straczynski's work on ASM, but actually enjoyed it and I was quite annoyed when One More Day pretty much retconned pretty much all of its plot development. I honestly thought the 'Other' story didn't happen just as Ezekiel and the entire occult origin and that's why Peter didn't have the organic web-shooters or the bone 'claws' or whatever you want to call the things that came out of his arm. Now it's back. I usually don't mind a good callback, but this is is just weird. Plus in the original 'other' story Peter embraced the Spider, that's why he's alive. They even did a What if.. about him rejecting the Spider. So far the book has been great, but this new development is just sloppy and confusing so far.

It was a decent setup for a better story (hopefully), but Lands art is still annoying. I mean you can pretty much see the c*ck on the alien chicks tongue on the third page. I also hope Death's Head wasn't just a cameo.

@MikeStark: Damn troll! Superhero comics has been about saving the world, for what 70 YEARS or so. You don't like it, don't buy and read it. But please spare us from the whole attention whore bit where you feel the need to go on a comics site to write a "snarky" comment about how bad a book and it's publisher is, just to get some attention. Begone! Back under the bridge with you!

As far as the issue goes, it keeps getting better and better just as I expected from Hickman. And how they handled Cap, that's probably gonna come back in a big way to bite them in the ass.

P.S. Please spare me the "don't feed the trolls" comment, I did it on purpose.

@LiveForever: Exactly. Trust Hickman. As far as people that don't belong, there were quite a few in the history of the Avengers that were more or less questionable. My favorite is Starfox, who was basically a walking roofie. But the Avengers were always a good platform to bring lesser known heroes into the spotlight. And for the powerhouses, not all of them will be around always. If check out issue 2 again, around the middle of the issue Stark and Cap are talking about the roster. Stark says "A limited roster until need demands more". And when they go recruiting in the same issue, all the say to these people is "keep your phone on". And honestly, if on your first mission you run into a couple of people that pretty much bitch slapped Iron Man, Thor and the Hulk, wouldn't you bring a couple of big guns too and the smaller ones can keep on concentrating on the things that would distract the Hyperion types.

@LiveForever: I actually read your entire comment. I actually liked the first three issues, my biggest problem was that the whole conflict ended quite abruptly. I actually trust Hickman, because, well his F4 run was great and if you look back, it also started with a 3 issue story, one that was pretty much the basis for his entire run. I truly believe we'll see some great things on these pages. On the Spider-Man issue, it has been said in an interview, that in the first arc it's going to be Peter Parker Spider-Man and after that the Octopus Spider-Man. As for going bigger, the Avengers participating in AvX and the ones brought in were more like reserve members. The core is still Cap, Stark, Hulk, Hawkeye, Widow and Thor. The rest are called in if something big happens and the core needs help. Something that just happened he, with a few near omnipotent beings and on that note the quick finish kinda makes sense: if you have a lot of backup, somebody might just be able to end the conflict quicker, like Captain Universe here. The beginning and the end of this story suggested some even bigger threats and events that will come along. If Hickman's run will be just half as good as the one on F4, it's still gonna be pretty awesome. As far as the art goes, well that's really subjective, but in my opinion I really liked Opena's art, one of his best so far. Oh and I'm really interested in what will happen to Adam, I mean the guy speaks Celestial if I'm right and that's more than a good setup.

So far this has been a quite mediocre book in my opinion. The characters are generally wasted by barely ding anything and I never really liked Dillon's art in superhero books. He's great for a Punisher book, with the whole "ugly underworld" thing, but I honestly think he should be kept away from the spandex folk.

"To be blunt, Elektra looks like Frank Castle in drag" - This made me laugh my ass off. As far as faces go, there are a few artist who fall into the same problem, like Romita Jr (whose art I actually like, but the only way to differentiate between his version of, say Tony Stark, Reed Richards and Dr. Strange is tony has a goatee, Strange has a goatee and grey sideburns and Reed only has the grey sideburns) and Greg Land (who's a whole other can of worms).
