Attack of the Show and X-Play Cancelled by G4

Farewell..... I'm tearing up... Attack of the Show and X-Play. TVGuide.com is reporting that the two long-running G4 series are coming to an end, as the cable undergoes a rebranding that will turn away from its geek-friendly past.

2004-2012
2002-2012
2002-2012

The final episodes of both will air in December, and leading up to the finale will be rotating guest co-hosts joining

current ATOS hosts Candace Bailey and Sara Underwood and X-Play hosts Morgan Webb and Blair Herter, including John Barrowman, Michael Ian Black, Josh Myers, Paul Scheer, Rob Huebel and Horatio Sanz.

TVGuide.com says both shows will have a series of farewell episodes that will include former guests and hosts returning, along with re-airing favorite segments from the past, including AOTS’s coverage of San Diego Comic-Con and X-Play’s E3 coverage.

"Attack of the Show and X-Play have been important for G4, and we want to acknowledge the creative people who have helped inspire and showcase the phenomenon of gamer culture," G4 Media general manager Adam Stotsky tells TV Guide. "With more than 3,000 episodes aired between them, we have more than enough great material to honor these innovators and their amazing contributions as we bring both shows to a close."

TVGuide.com says there is talk that G4 may be looking to partner with Esquire or another men’s magazine like GQ as it moves forward into “more upscale, sophisticated guy TV space.” The network may be renamed G4Men, among other possibilities.....That sounds...questionable.

Okay, I've watched G4 since 2006 With Kevin Perria, Olivia Munn, Adam Sessler, Morgan Webb, Kristen Holt/Adams, now the show has taken huge declines since then.... like really recently! but I stayed through... some of it, Well I guess thats done with, so what do think?

Did you care? Do you Care? If you do What will you miss? and what did you miss about the old days of G4?

Ming-Na Wen Cast in S.H.I.E.L.D.

At New York Comic Con, we got the big surprise news that Clark Gregg would be starring in Joss Whedon's S.H.I.E.L.D. for ABC as Agent Phil Coulson, but we've still been waiting to hear who else would join him.

We now have our first additional cast member revealed, as Deadline reports that the original Street Fighter movie's Chun-Li, Ming-Na Wen (whose many other credits include Mulan and Stargate Universe), will be playing one of the lead roles: Melinda May.

According to Deadline, the character description says, "Soulful and slightly damaged by her combat experiences, Melinda is an ace pilot, a weapons expert and a soldier who can — and has — gone beyond the call of duty." In the original list of S.H.I.E.L.D characters, Melinda went by the name Agent Althea Rice, aka The Calvary.

Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen are writing the script to the S.H.I.E.L.D. pilot, with Joss Whedon expected to direct.

See The Ponds Say Goodbye To Brian In Doctor Who Deleted Scene

As Amy and Rory departed Doctor Who at the end of the mid-series finale The Angels Take Manhattan, we were left wondering how Rory's dad Brian would take the news. A firm fan favorite despite only being introduced in the second episode of this season, Brian Williams (Harry Potter's Mark Williams) never got to say goodbye to his son and daughter-in-law.

Well, it seems like scriptwriter Chris Chibnall had originally planned to give Brian what they call 'closure,' as a new clip released today by the BBC reveals. Reconstructed using animated storyboards and voice overs, this epilogue entitled P.S. gives the one-time Who companion a fitting (and emotional) send off, which you can watch below.
