Bye bye, deterred by the behaviour of too many posters and the bad quality of the moderation, I have decided to leave the site for good. Good luck to all the honest posters who have chosen to stay.

@SlimJ87D: You are absolutely right, plus from the creatures who claim to be his "parents", we have learnt that he is in no way human by origin: he is one of their probes who has chosen to assume a human shape. He has no reason to have the human weaknesses.

@Buckshot: So literally, when I am being called "You arrogant, smug, self righteous, hypocritical, pathetic piece of work", what I should do is just be happy and go posting somewhere else where people behave better? Is that your vision of what is being fair?

Not sure where you saw "go post somewhere else" in my response, but it would solve your problem, wouldn't it? My actual recommendation was to ignore insults and not engage in a conversation if it's bothering you. Does continuing the back and forth solve your problem? No, so why do it? You are fully capable of not responding to someone if you think the conversation will not be worth your time. You cannot control him, but you can control you, so do so. I can moderate him and I have. There's really no need for any more of this.

Well, when you are telling me to not read nor reply to what is being posted, I believe it can be interpreted as an invitation to go post somewhere else or simply stop posting, something you have just confirmed with your ironical comment explaining how that would solve my problem.

Now when I read the forum rules and FAQS for this site, here is what I see:

8. NO ABUSE OR HARASSMENT

This includes any threatening behavior or insults towards other users. Mods have to deal with it you will get an immediate ban, no warning. We do not tolerate abuse. Be careful what you might consider an insult as well, the Vine is made up of a vast number of backgrounds, cultures and experiences. What you might think is an acceptable word to call someone might not be according to them. An example of this is the word "liar" which is often used in debates.

And I have all the reasons to believe that calling someone "You arrogant, smug, self righteous, hypocritical, pathetic piece of work" is an insult and that adding in the same post other comments on the same tone exactly is equally an insult.

You, as a moderator are now telling me that the way to deal with those insults is to ignore them and/or let them deter me to participate in the conversation. This is not only against the rules, but also stands as a clear condoning of rude behaviours in general: according to you it's the people who abide by the rules who should keep quiet and move away because it would "solve their problem". I am seriously happy that you are not being part of the Police force or any corps supposed to protect law abiding citizens in real life.

Now I am going to ask Tony's opinion about that because I find it difficult to believe that it is what the staff want for this site.

@DocFatalis: Give me a break. I'm not threatening you. I'm giving you a piece of my mind. There's a clear difference. I will not stand for unjust accusations. I don't even want to be making this next post to you but you seem to fail to make the distinction between threatening and blunt talking. You were wrong to call me biased when I am one of the least biased people on here. I do not let my liking a character affect my judgement. What you mistake for bias I call scrupulous reasoning of the interpretations of feats until the best argument (Slim's) is given. I don't want to derail this thread but neither will I stand for unjust criticisms. That is your mistake where it shows that you're not clever either. You broke a rule there too.

Here's what I really mean: You keep away from me, I keep away from you. Your stupid criticism was not one made in the right circumstances. Understand this time. I'm on a vendetta against people who have the gall to make personal accusations like calling people fanboys or biased like you did rather than reasonable arguments which you are making in spades. Just like you did with the Sentry. And call in the mods if you want. You're just as much to blame for unjust baiting as I am for the response. You're at fault too I'm afraid.

You're insulting me again and qualifying my comments with a much inappropriate language while I haven't been rude in anyway. I see there is a moderator on this very thread and I am asking if this kind of behaviour shown by Lvenger is what you endorse and condone?

@DocFatalis: 1)You arrogant, smug, self righteous, hypocritical, pathetic piece of work. I am a Superman fan, not a Superman fanboy. How dare you even try and make that comparison. I've since changed my position on the Superman/Hal feat. Does that show me trying to make Superman look good? Does that show I'm a blind Superman fan? No I question the evidence and reach the best judgment possible. If other evidence proves me wrong I accept it and it was Slim's evidence, not your worthless arguments that proved me wrong. I have every right to post on here and far more than you after you resort to infantile retorts of labelling me a 2)fanboy. That is a sad, sad tactic that undermines your juvenile position. Furthermore let's look at your self contradictory position. 3)You claim that the on panel evidence is all important yet overlook the New 52 panel evidence. Namely

  • Superman being deprived of sunlight for 5 days
  • Lifting the weight of the Earth in all that time
  • Only dropping a bead of sweat

That is the on panel evidence which you so value. Now by comparison does that really seem like someone who can perform this feat would have trouble lifting an aircarrier? No because he's trying not to break it in half with the force required to lift it. This shows how absurd your argument is and I am done with this. Stop making pathetic criticisms of me which are untrue beyond reason and make me so angry I almost included swear words in this post and contradicting yourself. It's just absurd. 4)I hope I don't have the misfortune of running into you on here again. You clear on that?

1) That really wasn't clever nor polite, but we'll come back to it later.

2) Have you seen anywhere in my post the word "fanboy"? Not at all I think, and it even appears to me that I said something about the fact that liking a character wasn't a crime.

3) About the "on panel" evidence, yes, I value it, that and consistency in facts about a character, so when an author is suddenly giving a character an isolated high end feat when everything seems to point in the opposite direction, including on panel evidence, before and after the isolated feat in question, I tend to question it.

4) Are you trying to threaten me or tell me that you are going to harass me for participating into the forums? Because if that is so it is not only pointless but very much against the rules. We'll be sure to check that with moderators.

Now, to come back to 1: Your language has no reason to be tolerated, and the mere fact that you answer in this manner clearly shows that my previous comment has hurt you like the truth only hurts. Blame it on yourself: nobody is forcing you to be biased. Anyhow, I am on a personal vendetta against people on those pages who can not hold their nerves and talk without resorting to insults, so let us see if you haven't broken a rule or two here.

Moderators please, can I get your opinion about that, because I certainly feel insulted for no reason and if I'm not mistaken, this user is trying to threaten me:

@DocFatalis:@SlimJ87D: I would say it's reaching but not impossible. Nowhere in the scan does Hal show he is actually pulling the Earth himself. He aims downward at the construct and is not moving in the same direction as Superman is. Besides there's also the fact to consider that Prime wasn't moving the planet against the will of a cosmic entity so the fact Superman managed to pull the planet in a tug of war contest is impressive enough.

@Buckshot: If you refer to the MM, WW and Superman case, they needed all the heavy hitters there to move the planet as fast as possible given the circumstances. And it doesn't make the Warworld feat go away either.

It is now clear that you would say anything to make Superman look good because you simply are a fan. That's not a crime, but you're posting on the wrong thread. You should open a tribute thread or go to a "Superman is so awesome" forum.

Another dead give away, superman says "add your power to MINE." He doesn't say add it to the construct or add it to the harness.

What I said exactly, but Lvenger seems to think it means something else?

@Lvenger: Those panels seem to show on the contrary that Superman is indeed asking for additional power: "add your power to mine" and right before that, GL says that they are the only ones strong enough to do it.

So sorry, but the Superman alone theory is very unconvincing to say the least.

As is your response. You overlook the fact that Superman is asking for Hal's power to keep the construct together so that he can pull the Earth. So sorry but you fail to show how Hal is helping rather than acting as the reins for Superman to pull the Earth.

Well, I just read the panel and you extrapolate and give words a meaning they don't originally have. If it was written "focus on your construct" or "We're the only one who can combine sturdy constructs and your strength" I'd say ok, it's obvious, but all we have is you saying that "strong" doesn't mean strong and "add your power to mine" means "keep the construct stable". You'll admit that what you say is once again a far cry from what is being shown.
