How come Oldman has to apologize for stating his honest beliefs in a respectful yet funny manner, but when Spike Lee says he hates biracial couples, attacks any movie more successful than his out of jealousy, ignorance and a desperation to stay relevant and that white people shouldn't be allowed in black neighborhoods he get's free tickets to Knicks games and interviews on ESPN?
He does if he wants people to keep seeing his movies.

Same here. Gary Oldman is probably one of the most talented actors of all time. I've never taken my political cues from hollywood and I don't ever intend to. For example, I hate Frank Miller's political views but that wouldn't stop me from reading TDKR. Why, because it isn't his job to adhere to public opinion. In fact, if any group of people has the right to challenge political correctness it should be artists.
