Comics aren't dying. They just aren't relevant. The number of readers/collectors are shrinking but they're also paying a lot more for their books.
I think the biggest mistake Marvel and DC made was not prioritizing online sales right when that boom period really started in the MCU and the DCEU was still relatively new. They stuck with diamond way too long and the distribution problems cleared a path for manga's expansion in sales to go uncontested.
Tldr, you could buy manga almost anywhere and you could only buy comic books if you lived near brick and mortar stores for several decades and when the movies were making comics popular again, the industry didn't adapt to the market fast enough.
@scott_summers52: That's why the artist drew a shadow obscuring Dick and Damian's faces and kept Jason's mask on. It's been done so much now that I was more annoyed than shocked that they were doing this.
I hate when writers try to cheapen the significance of Jason Todd's death.
@laughingbatman: @eto: Aquaman is my second favorite rebirth book (Behind Superman) and imo, the most consistent rebirth book. Black Manta's character progression kind of goes in a circle, but everything else about that book is top notch.
Saw the best parts on YouTube. Not sitting through the rest of that tripe.
You were better off for it. I made the mistake of reading the full Negan arc in the comics. Now I understand how much of the show is filler and it's ruining it for me.
@nerevarine_11: Cheshire was in Red Hood in the Outlaws during New 52. She was working with the league of assassins, had a new teleportation power (along with poison based weaponry), and stole Roy's trucker hat. I haven't seen her since that arc concluded about 2 years ago.
@modernww2fare: Ikr. They have over 20 more episodes to go. Hopefully it's not like season 2 where he and the big villain are ready to fight each other and have to waste 9 weeks explaining why the plot won't allow them to face off yet.
