I swear by it for cataloging my collection. It's fan-freaking-tastic. It includes cover images, release dates, issue credits, etc., and it's all pre-loaded, you don't have to spend tons of time inputting the info yourself. But at the same, allows you to add extra details and notes if you want to. The software is completely free to download and use; however there is a catch. It will only update with new issues for 30 days. If you want it to continue updating with new issues that keep coming out, than you have to pay an annual fee of $29.95. But IMO, is well worth that price. I'd pay twice that for ease of use and how convenient it is to use to look things up when your physical collection is nearly 4,000 comics like mine.

Its not just for comics either, it also has sections for graphic novels, magazines, trading cards, and action figures.

You can also buy and sell comics on CCL, and CCL has the best prices on back-issues I've seen online, cheaper than Mile High Comics and My Comic Shop. Plus there's a great community on the message boards.

Sounds neat. The software I use allows you to "add comics automatically". This entails typing in a title, putting a tick next to issue numbers you have, clicking "Add" then pulls data and cover images from the company's server for those issues into your database. As I said previously, I am using an older version of the software, the newer version may have improved upon this automatic feature but I don't know. I paid a one-off fee upfront for this software when I originally purchased it. This is the website - http://www.collectorz.com/ . I also use their movie collector software.

I just recently finished organising and cataloging my entire comic collection and now know for the first time ever exactly how many I have (4,115). They are mostly titles from the 1990s with some 80s and 00s thrown in. I think it took me about two and a half to three weeks to process them all (sort, bag, box, label, add entry into database). I don't collect comics regularly anymore (I stopped roughly ten years ago) but I do occasioanlly buy the odd TPB etc. Anyway, I used Comic Collector Pro 3.3 (an older version of the software that I bought ages ago but is still perfectly capable). The reason I decided to finally have a database for them all is to give me something productive to do while I am unemployed and also look to sell some. So anyway, I'm curious as to how any of you keep track of your collections - software? scratty little notebook? scrawlings on a cave wall? the deeper recesses of your mind?

yes we can...I was unaware Ethan was moving on though, I guess he's going with the company he helped build?

I saw this response from him on twitter about it - https://twitter.com/#!/red_lamp/status/181462996760006656. It seems he is leaving Whiskey Media altogether.

Reading this article immediately reminded me of this site. I think a cover relating to the story in this article is featured in superdickery.com somewhere. No it's not a porn site. It highlights various comic covers etc that show Superman being a total dick to other people - hence the name of the site.

Is he referring to the movie Megamind? Or is Mastermind something else I'm unaware of?

Coincedentally, shortly before reading this article, I attempted to watch a Manga Entertainment Animated Film called "Sword For Truth".  The reason why it's a coincedence is that the main character is one of those peerless, emotionless, Ninja/Samurai type guys that I find so boring to watch. You just know before every fight starts that he isn't even gonna get one scratch on him much less be in mortal danger, and he knows it.  This was one of many reasons why I couldn't bring myself to watching it to the end, and it's only 50 minutes long and free in Youtube's Movies section.

This ties in with what undeadpool is stating above.  A hero (of any kind, super or not) that can neatly sidestep any peril thrust upon him/her with minimal effort is boring and simply unwatchable/unreadable.
