@DarthShap: Simple end to your argument. Yes he bought them. But that also means he could free them, since they are now his property. Also, since he bought them as infants, he couldn't just abandon them (amazons being super powered by their nature) so he raised them. And they decided to stay with them when they grew old enough to make their own decisions (as evidenced when they stood up for him when he was attacked). So where is the moral grey area? I see none at all

Thats what I get when I read this issue. you just seem hell bent on judging Hephaestus as a slaver.

The first thing I have to say is that making a group of people who completely reject men is by it's very nature sexist. It's just that the roles are reversed. So don't use that argument

Next, I agree the fact that Wonder Woman doesn't realize this is part of her history is a very big plot hole, one that needs addressing.

Besides that, the story is good, and all this change implies is that what she was told of her history was a lie meant to protect her from hera, so you can still assume that the rest of her stories still went along in canon.

Also, remember that the amazons were a warrior society, so the fact they are brutal in their actions makes complete sense. And you can't blame Azzarello for making the series closer to greek mythology. William Marston name the characters amazons, basing them off of these legends. his fault for ignoring the fact that the women seduced and killed all men they met

@RazzaTazz: I agree lol. She does have a stable fan base and the brand recognition to bring in new readers, she just always seemed to need the little push to make her stand out from being "Greek Super-woman" in the eyes of the public, and I think this new volume helps.

@RazzaTazz: I suppose Green Lantern was a bad example, but at least he's had multiple peaks in popularity, from a few classic silver and modern age stories, to the inclusion of Kyle Rayner to Geoff Johns past 8 years. I have never seen that kind of interest in a Wonder Woman story EVER, despite her status as one of the "Big 3" of DC. So obviously in the new 52 they'd try and make her able to connect with a wider audience through drastic changes, which is what they did, but it was done in a way that kept all her past continuity, but introduced the idea that some of the stuff she's been told about her people was instead a bunch of lies, which I feel is a pretty smart idea.

This... wasn't that good. Sex and violence for the sake of sex and violence is fine, in it's own way, but this offers nothing to the table I haven't seen done better. Sure, there's obviously a deeper plot to it, but in the end this just couldn't make me care. At all. And I think that's gonna be the consensus when it's given a proper review

Who says we only need on sidekick for Batman, one whose not necessarily a Robin? Might be interesting to see her in later stories, maybe move her as a supporter in Batman and Robin.

Then again, I get memories of Stephanie Brown when I wrote this, so I don't know what to think now. Hopefully Snyder won't treat this one like shit for no good reason.

It's weird that people are so passionate about this but when Christopher Nolan makes 3 Batman movie that are nothing like Batman we all applaud it. I'm a big TMNT fan, but I'll reserve judgement until I see more than a one-sentence statement about a movie that hasn't even started casting yet. (Plus, have you forgotten how awesome the first Transformers movie is?).

Also, this should be labeled an Editorial because it is way too biased to show up on the homepage like it is.

My arguments about how much Nolan movies captured the Batman from the comics better than any other adaptation (not counting the cartoon), except mildly tweeked to make the transition to the screen, aside, Nolan still Kept Bruce Wayne as Bruce Wayne. Didn't make him a wizard who gained bat powers, didn't make him an alien.

@Tyrisis: Isn't that the point of a crossover? Putting characters into situations they don't normally encounter with other people from their shared universes?

Also, the Punisher was once resurrected as a Frankenstein-esque monster (I know, it WAS stupid), so this is actually probably FAR closer to his comfort zone than that ever was.

Making the call right now, the only reason their bringing back the Captain Marvel name is because of the SHAZAM! renaming/reintroduction to the DCU. Like transparently so. That said, the book looks like it could be quite good
