This is a joke.  they've been doing this for four season now and nothing ever really comes from it. I got caught up into it at first but with no real follow-up I got frustrated and lost respect.

Superman is lame, sh*t, and his stories are very boring  Why does the vine always have a Superman tribute of the month, he has no toon, his movie flopped and there are far more interesting comics out there Looking forward to the day the vine dumps these silly superman vids

You are certainly entitled to your opinion but that is all it is - an opnion.  There are many here who who do not feel the same as you and he (Superman) holds a very relevant and important role to us in historical and comtemporary comics.  His movie might have flopped but his TV series Smallville is probably the most succesfful ever for a comic book hero and just ended its 10th and final season with a bang.  Some of the story arcs in recent years - most notably penned by Busiek and Johns, have been very compelling.  You cannot ignore Superman's continuing contribution to the genre and I applaud this sites reccognition of that (even if I think some of these topics are a little silly.)

Agreed.  Real cities might work for Marvel - but one of things that has always attracted me more to DC is it's setting where the mood and tone of the 'fictional' cities have a very intimate relationship with the heroes.

Nightwing is part of the Batman family and I think his ties need to be rooted in or close to Gotham.  There is so much crime in Gotham that he would not be stepping on Bruces toes and we are talking about street level heroes here, not Supermen.

Why?  For pointing out that Adam Hughes art is exploitive and not liking it?  He is a pinup artist that throws superhero costumes on his subjects.  9 out of 10 times it's totally out of context and character.  If Barbara Gordon was a real person what do you thnk she would have to say about being represented like that?

Wow, you guys really like this cover?  She pretty much looks like a little girl victim here.  There is almost something perverse about it.   She is hiding in a position that looks like some teenager hiding from a slasher in a teen horror movie.  Is that a batarang?-she is holding it like she doesn't know how to use it.  IMO she looks like some Otaku/Hentai fantasy girl waiting to be dominated.

This is the cover for a heroine worthy of wearing the Bat costume?  It was on my pull list - not now.

With respect to the DC Relaunch, I'm a little intrigued by the costume differences between Superboy #1 and what appears to be Superboy in Teen Titans #1.  I also notice that they do not mention Superboy in the solicitation for Teen Titans #1...

" As Red Robin, he's going to have to team up with the mysterious and belligerent powerhouse thief known as Wonder Girl and the hyperactive speedster calling himself Kid Flash to stand any chance at all against a living, breathing weapon with roots in another world! They – along with a few other tortured teen heroes – will be the Teen Titans"

 Superboy #1
 Superboy #1

Teen Titans #1
Teen Titans #1

So is that the same Superboy in both images?  Maybe this is already common knowledge that I have missed somewhere.  It could be that the image on the cover of Superboy #1 portrays him as he is being cloned and is not really his costume.

I think this is silly question unless it is rhetorical.  You are asking us to question the basis of a character that has been developed over decades.  The answer should be obvious and is stated in the first panel you presented.  If he would win that war then there would be no more Batman.

I don't agree with the argument presented here.  I don't know anyone who has gone to a film adaption of a comic or a novel and really cares if or expects it to be similar to the printed material and/or how supporting characters differ between the two.  The only people that seem to scream about this are the hard-core fans of the original material.  I think that Comic Books sales not benefiting from the success of films has little to do with the complexities of the the comic books or differences from the films but more with the differences in the mediums and the commitment to participate.  Going to the movies is easy and does not require too much investment - getting into comic books and collecting them, as they come out, requires a much larger commitment (time and money) than most people are willing to invest in.  I bet that what is actually happening is that if they like the movie they visit their local mall bookstore and buy some TPBs (and I notice that the bookstores capitalize with special X-Men or Batman 'insert latest film hero here' displays during the run of the film), maybe a poster or two and a T-Shirt.  Most people are just not obsessed or crazy enough to be a comic book reader and if they were they would already be one before they saw the movie.

Just my 2cents.

I thought it was pretty good.  I could have done without the whole 'origin of' part, was hoping it would have been darker/more violent and didn't really like the way they portrayed Parallax, but easily go past these hopes to enjoy the film.  Hector Hammond was awesome, one of the best parts of the film IMO.  CGI was great - the GL constructs turned out a lot better than I thought they would.

I always laugh at how everyone rates these films on how close they are to the printed material.  They are such different mediums they really do have to be re-invented.  IMO, if they tried to recreate exactly what is in the books they would be doomed for failure and fall flat.  I throw out such expectations and go into these as if they are a parallel-world/what-if/else-world type story.
