OK, here goes.
The indicia on page 3 says the following
Published in Great Britain by D.C. Thomson & Co. Ltd, 185 Fleet Street, London, EC4A 2HS. © D.C. Thomson & Co. Ltd 2013.
CONTACT DETAILS Post: Dennis & Gnasher Megazine, D.C. Thomson & Co. Ltd, 80 Kingsway East, Dundee, DD4 8SL. Email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Note that the name in the address doesn't even match the logo (omitting "100% Official" and "The Menace"), which muddies the waters further. The front cover has #80 next to the barcode, with a BeanoMAX logo, which contradicts the small print I quoted from page 3.
Subscribers are starting to get their copies, and we have a problem. As I suspected, there are two contradictory issue numbers on the cover! The number next to the barcode is indeed #80. Are there other examples of where this kind of thing has happened? Two issue numbers on a newly renamed comic?
A supposedly new title called 100% Official Dennis the Menace and Gnasher Megazine launches on July 24, to tie into a new series of the Dennis the Menace and Gnasher cartoon on CBBC. It's cover has been revealed already - though not at a usable size for this site yet - only, despite saying in big letters Issue No 1, there's a BeanoMAX logo next to the barcode, which pretty much reveals it as issue 80 of that title. So, would it be a new volume, the same volume renamed to the new title? BeanoMAX 79 lacked an indicia entirely for some reason, and both it and the weekly Beano have always only said © DC Thomson and Co Ltd 2013. All advertisements for the Megazine fail to mention MAX at all. As such, the indicia won't answer the question.
Two aliases for The Beano Annual - The Beano Book and The Magic-Beano Book. These are former names.
And likewise, The Dandy Annual used to be called The Dandy Book.
Found 20 high-res covers on the Guardian website, you see. Next up, the 1978 Beano Book. I already made the new cover the default, so again, second image to delete please. http://www.comicvine.com/the-beano-annual-1978/4000-254106/
