Welcome to this geeks 2nd blog
Apparently Gamestop has Guild Wars 2 available for pre-order with the shipping date set for 11/2/10. I know I shouldn’t get excited because this is more than likely a placeholder date, but God I can’t help it. This game had more or less no new updates since it was announced in march of 2007 and to be honest I thought development had halted and the game would never come out. Just recently there has been more and more information slowly leaked and a few trailers for the different races that will be available to play have been shown (Still waiting on class information, can’t wait to see the new classes). This game is definitely on my top 5 most anticipated for 2010 (Please? Don’t get pushed back to 2011).
So far my most anticipated for 2010 list looks like this (in no particular order).
- Guild Wars 2
- Alan Wake
- The Last Guardian
- Red Dead Redemption
- Splinter Cell: Conviction
- Metal Gear Solid Peacewalker
- Castlevania Lords of Shadow
- World of Warcraft Cataclysm (I really don’t like admitting this seeing as I don’t play anymore)
In other news Stan Lee is writing (another…) manga/anime called Heroman. I saw the trailer for it and while the production values looked great, it still manages to look like every other generic ‘boy acquires robot, proceeds to save world’ anime out there. The only possible reason he has branched out to this in my mind is for cash, which is sad but he does need to pay the bills.
I saw Alice in Wonderland in 3-D and really enjoyed it. Also, Tron Legacy trailer in 3-D? Awesome as shit. Seriously cannot wait for it, the new look for everything is brilliant. Anyways, back to Alice in Wonderland. I really enjoyed the movie and the 3-D, which I know a lot of people didn’t like and say it didn’t really do anything for the movie as a whole. I won’t spoil anything here but the acting from everyone was great, the special effects as well.
Thats all for now, thanks for reading this geeks blog!

First time on here, might as well blog about geek related material
Heard about the Spider-Man reboot and while I really wasn’t a big fan of the third Spider-Man film I don’t think it warranted a reboot of the entire franchise. I mean really the film series isn’t even 10 years old, if worst came to worst they could just act like the third movie never happened so they were back to having Venoms character again(thank you Hulk for proving a reboot can be done incredibly well). The director for the reboot really does not strike me in any way shape or form as being someone who just jumped off of the page for the director for Spider-Man (Marc Webb, 500 Days of Summer). I do have to admit the rumor that Joseph Gordon Levitt could be in talks for the role of Parker is indeed awesome.
In no-one-cares-but-I’m-going-to-tell-you news, I’ve been playing Lord of the Rings Online over the past few months and can honestly say it’s one of the best MMO’s I’ve played in a long time. The game feels like it really had alot of effort put into it to remain faithful to the franchise and it really shows. All of the areas look gorgeous. The gameplay is your standard MMO more or less, although I’m really fond of the crafting system in this game and the way it works (it does help I don’t mind to farm the mats since the game is so damn GORGEOUS).
I also picked up All-Star Batman and Robin the Boy Wonder after having read All-Star Superman which was great. Bad idea. This is easily one of the worst comics I’ve read in a long long time. The entire comic is Batman degrading Robin and being a complete antisocial dick (no pun intended) with no redeeming qualities. Miller makes you actually hate Batman’s character with a fiery passion. Frank Miller really needs to just quit at this point. Don’t get me wrong the man does have some achievements such as TDK, DKR, Ronin, Batman Year One, and of course Sin City, but everything he’s done recently is just absolute garbage (AS B&R, Dark Knight Strikes Again, and The Spirit) which really leads me to believe he has lost his touch.
That’s about it for now, thanks for reading this geeks blog!
