Real Name: Spike Harlowe
Alias(es): Devilfist, Iron Spike (Stage Name)
Age: 26
Personality: Crude, lazy, hedonistic, angry, and violent. Spike hasn't kept a stable relationship in a decade, lives out of his band's tour bus, and regularly skips out on fan meets to sleep with the nearest pretty boy he can get his bony hands on. He never misses a show though, because he'll be damned if he's gonna deprive the fans. Above all else, Spike's an egotist. The guy knows he's a damn good guitarist, and he reminds his bandmates of it whenever possible. Out on his other "job" (see: bad luck mentioned below), he puts his rage to good use. It's an outlet. A violent one, but at least it cuts back on the time spent drinking. The Doc a few towns back said his liver looked ready to burst.
Occupation: One-time street racer and demolition derby driver, current guitarist on the rise, and unwilling vigilante. Well, less of a vigilante and more he just has a really bad (or preordained, if you believe that junk) habit of getting into fights with bad people. Magic types insist he's got some kind of "inner judge" that picks the bad ones out. Spike thinks that's horses**t, and that he just has exceptionally bad luck. After all, all that's inside him is a demon. And what kind of demon takes out the bad guys?
Origin: Magic curse placed on him after he got lucky and beat a mage senseless in a post-show bar brawl. He's still fuzzy on the details, but it involved bonding a really, really angry demon to his soul. In his defense, he didn't know the guy was a mage. How would he have? Mages don't really run around in pointy hats with stars plastered all over them. He wishes they did. Maybe those mages would've been less of a sore loser about getting their asses handed to them. But they don't exist. So he's stuck with freakish powers and one hell of a hot flash problem.
Powers:
- Fire Manipulation/Generation: High-level pyrokinetic. Can generate heat and flames and manipulate them in any way he sees fit.
- Flammable Secretions/Body: Can naturally secrete an oil specific to his body that's super-combustible. When coated, a piece of torn off skin or discarded bone can start a fire with enough friction.
- Enhanced Durability: Spike could get run over by a semi and get back up. He's sure not invulnerable, but he's basically a tank on two fiery leather-clad legs.
- Enhanced Strength: To put it bluntly, he once used a jeep as an elaborate bat to smack away a mutant twice his size. Spike packs roughly a twenty-ton punch, with a 40-ton lifting limit.
- Enhanced Speed: Doesn't apply to his running speed, but he strikes and dodges with a deceiving quickness for someone as heavy as he is. It's roughly a tier or two above peak human, giving him enough a superhuman edge in the speed department to keep up with swift opponents.
- Regeneration: In his Rider state, his bones grotesquely repair damage done to them at an alarming rate. There's about a thirty second delay before the healing kicks in. When it does, it works at breakneck speed to fix any damage done. Out of the Rider state he still heals, but not with the alarming speed he would otherwise.
Skills/Abilities:
- Above-average Melee Combatant: Competent street brawler, excellent with melee weapons (improvised or not).
- Vehicular Combatant: Highly skilled at fighting in or on moving vehicles. Specifically good on bikes of any sort, able to keep a relatively passable level of accuracy at high speeds.
- Marksman: Decent shot. He's not about to hit a guy between the eyes while skydiving, but he can pop a moving target twice in the torso well enough.
- Pyrokinetic Combat: Incorporates his fire into his fighting style. Whether it involves setting wooden bats on fire just long enough to do some heavy damage or incendiary rounds to set something ablaze at a distance, he makes good use of the flames.
