My Top 25 Favorite X-Men

List items

  • My all time favorite X-man. I have always liked psychic characters as that power set appealed to me. She is a strong and caring character. I can not wait for her to return.

  • Ask who I would want as the token strong guy on a team and Piotr takes that slot all the time. I liked his innocence and how he had to make certain choices as he grew up; from having to kill Proteus because he was the only one who could to killing Riptide out of rage. The fact that Pete was an artist was another reason why I connected with him. He shared a hobby I enjoyed which I found cool.

  • I wonder if I even have to explain why I like Kurt? He is just so amazing and complex; as well as a great character design and powers. A shame he has been wasted for like two years.

  • There is just something amazing about my little snowflake. She is such a tragic character; having to battle between the good and evil inside her. It is good to finally have her back; her deaging was lame and I hated her death. Such a waste of a good character. I always felt her return was the easiest to fix and am glad the writers thought so too.

  • My attachment to Kitty is having experienced her growth into the character she is today; from the X-men to Excalibur and back with the X-Men. I still remember begging my Mom to buy the Dark Phoenix trade paper back at the comic book store and meeting this character for the first time. Then I got the Pryde of the X-Men video. It is good to have her back.

  • Dani is my favorite New Mutant; despite being below Yana. I love my strong female archetypes and Dani was amazing as the take charge teen in the New Mutants. Who needs powers when Dani can kick your butt three ways from Sunday. She is proving to be just like Storm when she lost her powers; still strong, smart, and no fear.

  • Hands down my all time favorite leader of the X-Men. She is strong, forceful, and opinionated. I loved all her incarnations; goddess, punk, powerless, leader. I feel it is time for her to lead a group of X-Men or start a new splinter team away from Utopia.

  • I have always felt Sean was underrated. He is an intelligent experienced hero with leadership capabilities. His time mentoring Generation X is my favorite era. He could be doing that now but alas he is not. His death was lame; such a waste of a good character.

  • Hank has always been a favorite of mine. I loved his verbose comments, playful attitude, and loyalty to his friends. I do not like his cat appearance and miss his ape form. He seemed more useful in battle and looked cooler instead of a Disney reject. I am happy he is back with the Avengers even though I like him on the X-Men. He needs a change of scenery so that he can regain his fun personality that he's lost the past eight years.

  • My favorite explosive mallrat. I loved Jubes ever since her creation. She was so feisty and loud; a strong contrast to Kitty. I seem to like the characters who get no love from the writers. Hopefully she will return in all her explosive glory.

  • I like Chuck and it sucks that he is getting kicked around with all these "secrets" popping up.

  • Oh Berto, that suave hothead.

  • Sam is another character I saw grow from an awkward teenager to a confidant, capable leader. His first stint as an X-Man was alright but ever since he returned he is stepping up. Leading the New Mutants X-Men team and a Limbo team with three veteran X-Men is a start in the right direction.

  • Doug was so real and easy to connect with. He has brains, personality, and will do anything for his friends. Sure he didn't have an offensive power but his courage was amazing. His death was so sad and I am happy he's back among the living.

  • Rogue has such an interesting past. She was a villain but choose the side of angels becoming one of the greatest X-men.

  • She needs more love; plus she is Puerto Rican which was awesome to have someone with the same background as me. I loved her interactions with Iceman, Beast, and Wolverine. She could have been such an interesting X-Man if given the chance.

  • I have always liked Betsy and prefer her in her British body. She was far less complicated and did not have the confusing baggage with the Kwannon retcon.

  • Oh Jono, so cool when he was in Gen X. So much potential as an X-Men. Then fell flat after Decimation; and tied to Apocalypse. If there was ever a character who did not need to be depowered it was Jono. He had such a great visual power. A tragic character who was always rumored to be a natural leader; like in Gen-Next. Imagine the potential.

  • She is like the Generation X Kitty Pryde. So cool, so smart, so dedicated. She also has a great power. Yes I think shedding your skin to is awesome.

  • James is cool for being a copy of a dead X-Man. He grew to be an interesting character. I have always felt he has lots of potential. It is nice to see him as a member of the X-men after his years in X-Force.
