Chapter 98: Nasu Squad: Part 3

We begin the chapter with Kirie repeating Hyuse line he said last chapter. She then knock Hyuse on the head for saying something that was very obvious and not saying anything smart. She give him a noogie and remind him of the situation he is in now. Yotaro time in and say all that matters is that Osamu’s alive and everything else is in the past, Kirie come over and chop him on the head for trying to be a big shot.

Hyuse time in and say get to the point already, if you want information interrogate or torture me. Takumi reply that they don't want to do that. It’s exhausting for both parties. Yotaro time in and say you want to be tortured? You'd enjoy it. Takumi continue saying prisoners should be treated with respect and it may make trades for our own agents easier. Kirie time in say didn’t the Neighbors leave him behind and is he even worth anything to them? Kyosuke say he’s smart and talented and he a elite fight that what Jin said. Kirie is impress and Hyuse smile, but Kuosuke then say it not true and he made it up. He was trying to lighten the mood, he then say enough chit chat and let’s keep watching the match.

We cut back to the triple threat between Yuma, Yuko and Ko. Kei say it be tough for Yuko to go against two aces and suggest she should bail out or run away are both good choices. Jin time in and say she can still earn points. Nasu Squad have one more person on that side.

We then go to Yuko telling Akane not to fire yet, and wait until it counts. Mikami questions why Akane haven’t fire yet, Kei time in and say both Yuma and Ko are waiting for her to fire to quickly end the battle on their side. We then go to the tripe threat both Ko and Yuko are aiming at Yuma on both sides. Yuma quickly block and dodge both attacks but his right arm is taken out. Akane fire at Yuma, but Yuma was able to use a Grasshopper to dodge the shoot. He then make a dash for Akane, Yuko tells Akane to bail out. But Akane refuse to and continue shooting Yuma. At the play-by-play Mikami explain that Akane can bail out if there no enemies within 60 meter and Yuma is now within the 60 meter radius and she choose to face him head on.

Akane then fire two shots at two Meteors near Yuma, they explode two buildings sending debris all over the place. She then switch to a Ibis and prepared to fire at Yuma on sight. She then see Yuma’s right arm coming out of the debris but it a decoy, Yuma quickly finish Akane off and that is the ending of the chapter.

My Thoughts

I really enjoy this chapter (man, I sound like a broken record) I like the first scene with Hyuse and Tamakoma Branch. I like how Kirie take away Hyuse coolness by pointing out he isn’t really saying anything, I so tried of the bad boys getting a free pass and never the butt of any joke (I’m looking at you Sasuke). It really put a smile on my face. I also dig Tamakoma Branch policy on treating prisoners with respect and not dehumanized (even though Hyuse isn’t human.

Akane shine in this chapter, I like how she didn’t give up even though she have a little to no chance of surviving against Yuma. I like how prepared she was with all the traps and switching Lightning to Ibis was pretty cool. I sad to see her bail out, I was hoping she would take out someone.

Yuma was pretty crazy in this chapter, I love the part where he dodge both Ko and Yuko attacks. He really is his Squad Ace. Now I want to see Rei, Yuma and Ko throw down, that would be a interesting fight to see. The only thing I didn’t like is Akane being taken out so soon and the title of the chapter.

Hello and welcome to the last DHK's review blog on Animevice. Sadly, the site for Animevice is closing it doors on April 8th. It sad to see the old site go, I spend almost six years on Animevice. There was good times and bad times, but overall I have a blast on there and I'll miss the site. So farewell Animevice, until we meet again.

Anyway, I'll started the review

Chapter 97: Nasu Squad: Part 2

We started the chapter off with Taichi commenting on the bridge being destroyed and being separated from Ko, while Kuruma is wondering if this is Tamakoma doing. We then cut to Ko and Yuko, Ko tell his teammate after he get done with fighting everyone over here he'll swim over to there side. He then attack Yuko, we then cut to Border arena where Mikami and Jin are giving their play-by-play. Mikami comment on the situation by saying it a worst-case scenario for Nasu Squad because they can't meet up. Jin then time in and say all of the squads are the same situation and have to adapt and change their plans.

We then get see the fight with Ko and Yuko, they fight for a little while. Yuma then cut in and try to send Ko into the river, but Ko is able to use his Raygust's thruster to save himself. We then goto Akane who in sniping position and ask Yuko who to shoot first. Yuko reply the one that is easier to take out. We just cut to Rei and Osamu fighting, Rei is on the attack while Osamu is on the defensive. Osamu is caught off guard on Rei's Viper attacks, he then retreat into an alley. Rei think to herself that his escape route is so simple and he probably not used to combat. She then dodge a shoot from Taichi.

Taichi is disappointed that he miss and wondering if a Lightning would have been a better sniper choice. Yuka tell Taichi not to shoot blindly, but Taichi reply that he'll be safe because of the rain. We then cut to Sayoko sending a 3D map of Taichi's location to Rei's Trion body. Rei then send a dozen Viper to attack Taichi. Taichi manage to dodge some of the Vipers by jumping off the building, but some of them follow him off the building. He is save by Kuruma.

We then goto the Border arena for another play-by-play with Mikami and Kei, Mikami comment that Rei's Viper have free reign and carelessness will be punished. Kei then time in and say that Rei and Izumi are the only ones in Border who can problem the Vipers in real time, making them the most dangerous Viper user. We then cut to Osamu telling Chika to be careful and only shoot when she sure she be able to hit Rei. He then tell Yuma to focus on Ko, while he be getting the points on his side. We then goto Tamakoma branch, Kyosuke, Kirie and Takumi are watching the ranking match. Takumi ask Hyuse what he think of the fight, Hyuse reply there is nothing to say, the weak will lose as we end the chapter.

My Thoughts

This chapter was pretty action pack, I love the triple threat fight between Yuko, Ko and Yuma. It make them all look powerful and skillful. I dig Ko fighting style with the Raygust, I like how World Trigger characters have the same powers but they can mix and mash them to stand out from each other. I can't wait to see more of this triple threat fight in the future.

But I think Rei and Osamu stole this chapter for me, I like how Rei was able to take over the East Bank using her Viper. I like that we get more info on the Viper trigger and how Rei and Izumi are the only ones who can real time progrem there Viper. Osamu is really growing into a good leader, I like how quickly he recover from the situation and take commend. I like how confident he is now, showing his growth. I don't know how he'll overcome Rei's Viper without help, but that what make it interesting.

I hope we get more growth for Chika, I don't want her role to be just the cannon. But I have a feel we might get it next time. Taichi have been disappointing, I wondering why he in B rank. I guess Ko, Kon and Tatsuya carrier him. I was surprise to see Hyuse chilly in Tamakoma Branch, I really thought he'll be in a Border jail or something
