I really don't understand why they shouldn't go to decisions. I dunno, it was a close fight, and I think Edgar got more strikes, but Henderson was way more aggressive & his strikes did way more damage at the end of the day. He had control of the octagon, straight up, and looked as fresh as he did 25 minutes before. It's a testament to Edgar's heart and resilience that this wasn't a one-sided fight, because I thought the guy was done after the second round.
That's a good point but you pointed out the biggest problem yourself to why Henderson shouldn't have won. Edgar was defending his belt, he didn't need to go for a knockout. A good example is the first Machida/Shogun fight. Machida barely pulled out the win simply because he was defending his title. That's why I'm kind of disappointed with the fact that Edgar lost because he fought a really good fight and got jipped by a stupid decision.
