My Pokemon Team

When it comes to Pokemon I'm mostly a Gen 1 guy, who dabbles a little in Gen 2. Though, it's been some time since I have visited my pokemon, here is a record of who I last had on my team. Currently this is not a competition team, but is instead an in training/exploration team.

@dngn4774: In a team set up, Lugia is the only legendary I care about (Articuno deserves an honorable mention though), because for me Lugia has always been a staple in teams that I build. It's not so much a reliance on raw power, as it is nostalgia and imagination for myself in the immersion of the story.

@delphic: Same with me for Gyrados or Lapras. It might be odd of me but I never really bothered with using legendaries. To me the game is more fun when you don't always have overwhelming stats on your side, it allows you to actually think more critically about each of your moves rather than just relying on raw power.

@dngn4774: For my water types I normally run a Gyarados or a Lapras. For my flying types I normally run a Pidgotto or Pidgot if it's already evolved. If I was running Gen 2 you can bet Lugia would be on the team.

@impurestcheese: It's been awhile since I've played, but I agree with you in thinking that I evolved Growlithe too early. I think I had mainly wanted an Arcanine on the team for nostalgia purposes.

@samimista:
Thank you! ^_^

Nice lineup although I wouldn't have evolved either Pikachu or Growlithe so early just so they can naturally learn moves such as Thunderbolt and Flamethrower. Apart from that it's well rounded even without the water type although there is a latent bug and fighting type weakness to the team although Graveler and Kadabra can cover it.

@delphic I'd still evolve it to Vaporeon just for the Surf HM. Comes in handy to get stuff in the game later. Dig+any Ice move+Surf is an awesome because it makes it gives you options to take down multiple types of pokemon.

Don't you also need a pokemon to fly as well?

@dngn4774: Well like I said this was an in training team that I last had in my roster when I last played FireRed several months ago. I haven't even obtained all of my badges yet. Also I'm not too sure I want to evolve Eevee. I've never really cared for any of it's evolutions.

@delphic Why eevee? Normal types generally suck in pokemon.

Vaporeon would be better.
