Collecting Fables

So I've currently had an obsession with Fables, and I'm slowly collecting the trades. This is a list of all the trades I've collected so far.

Gotta say, I have yet to read Fables but this looks like an awesome list!

Do you recommend any stories? =O

Nice. Fables is an amazing series. I stopped reading somewhere around the early 100s but I've picked up related books too.

@samimista: I'm really just starting on the series, but I really enjoyed Storybook Love, which is in the third trade.

Being the gamer that you are Sammi, I do recommend that you try downloading The Wolf Among Us. It's a prequel to the comics, and though it's only on episode 2 it's still pretty good.

@raiiyn: I've just recently started reading them, and so far they've been pretty enjoyable. I'm going to try and collect all the trades.

Oh! I've heard of that. =O I had no idea that's related to the comics. 0.0 Always assumed it was another series. That really is cool. I'll have to check out Storybook Love.

Have you read Deadly Class by the way? Very awesome so far! Read the first issue four times already. xD

That's awesome. Like I said, it really is a great series and I enjoyed it very much. Do you like Cindy? She has two tpbs and I fairly enjoyed those as well ^.^

No I can't say that I have read Deadly Class, but if it's in singles right now, I'll wait till it comes out in tpb. Comics and I have a very love hate relationship right now. LOL

I haven't picked those up yet, but I do want to. I've very interested in the whole concept of Cinderella being a secret agent, or at least that's what I've heard.

I think I've got the first 8 trades, and 3 of the Jack of Fables trades. Great series. Willingham is a great writer.

@delphic: Oh noes! D= I hope the comics at least bought chocolate for you! 0.0 Can understand though. xD TPB's are fun to read together. Gets hard waiting for a monthly release. XD

@samimista: LOL, funny. Unfortunately that's the problem. They stopped bringing chocolate. :P

Looks like you're one trade ahead of me (though I've also read the most recent arc -- Camelot). This is quite a phenomenal series... I only wish going back to read it weren't so daunting a task!

And yes, The Wolf Among Us is proving to be spectacular.

@delphic: Yea, it's pretty bad ass man. They made me love Cindy's character (wasn't a huge cinderella fan as a kid but this portrayal just rocks).

@akbogert: Which is why I'm tackling this series one trade at a time. I know I have no hope by just diving into the current arc, plus I have "issues" with issues. LOL

@raiiyn: I've noticed that a lot of your old school Disney versions of the Princesses are a little more harder to swallow. Mainly speaking of Cinderella, Snow White, and Sleeping Beauty. With Frozen, Wolf Among Us, and the show Once Upon a Time, I'm seeing entirely different interpretations of these fairy tale characters. Places I could have never imagined they would have went it's pretty bad ass as you say.

@delphic: Haha, well Sleeping Beauty is one of my favs simply cause its really old school and I love it for that reason. And while disney has some pretty awesome princesses like Merida... Um Frozen's kinda suck. I mean I love Elsa but she isn't really badass. I like her cause I can empathize her emotions which are like a train wreck. And her sister? She's a self-centred jerk... I love the movie don't get me wrong but Elsa deserved more development and Olaf more screentime!

;P

I love, love, love blue in Fables and Charming's rendition is so perfect its sickening ;P

@raiiyn: Sleeping Beauty wasn't bad out of the original three. I liked it much more, because Prince Philip actually did something, and didn't just "show up". Also Maleficent...ZOMG Maleficent. For me though, Beauty and the Beast has a very special place in my heart...not that I'm into cheesy things like emotions :P

Frozen on the other hand, I loved the movie and the music, but personally I felt Tangled was much better. Also I think everyone loved Elsa a whole lot more than her sister.

Prince Philip is my favourite disney prince!!!

MALEFICENT OMGGGG TELL ME YOU CANT WAIT FOR THE MOVIE EITHER!?

haha, i know what you mean. Beauty & the Beast is more up my ally for the most part, but Sleeping Beauty is special ^.^

Tangled was awesome!! And yea, cause her sister is a snotty little brat who literally defines the word idiot o-o

@raiiyn: I'm super excited about Maleficent. If you had asked me that about a year ago when they first started showing teasers, my answer might have been different, but in these past few months I've really been feeling the hype.

Anna was sheltered, and like a lot of people she just goes out into the world believing everything is like...well like Disney, and she ends up learning some pretty hard lessons.

Speaking of which, did you notice this one thing about Hans. I noticed how he arrived in Arendelle by horse, yet he's from the "Southern Isles", and when they take him back home they throw him on a boat, so does that mean....JESUS HORSE!

@delphic: I am just on pins and needles waiting for it. It's going to be just spectacular, I know it!

That's very true but I still don't find her character very endearing :/ I really do wish Elsa had more development!

Hahaha ;P
