Her jaw line is... weird...

No clue what up with that blue collar thing. Maybe that's how it is in the comic, but if it's supposed to be to her back and not to her right side it should not be symmetrical like that.

The line coming off her left arm and under her rib shadow doesn't work. It's there for showing her shape, but it doesn't quite look right. It should be replace with a different line or perhaps we should see the back wall a little between her arm and torso... That doesn't seem right. I dunno.

crotch lines...this should be done with shading since that's a dress, or at least appears to be. The lines should be reduced or removed all together.

Her right boob is super squished...It should be slightly bigger and moved down a little more based on her other boob

Your shading on your colors are all over the place...I'm pretty sure you weren't trying as the shading on the face is pretty good, but there rest of her is all just quickly done it seems.

@durakken to avoid this sort of thing escalating or reoccurring, unless the artist is explicitly asking for notes or criticism, try to refrain from critiquing their work unsolicited. Artist at varying levels of aptitude frequent the forum, some just post for fun and to show-off what they've done, others might be looking for notes like what you're offering above. Obviously there's a chance you might offend someone as you can tell here, in the future you might want to ask the artist if they want criticism before offering it.

That's pretty good decept-o. What made you want to draw her? I get the feeling she inspired you in someway. Tell me the story behind it :) also, do you have any more?

@shatterstar: OR I can do the practical thing, which is not what you are not suggesting, which is consider every post a solicitation for opinions which is what putting your work out in public is and if the "artist" can't stand it, well, that's on them. And when I get responses like the obviously childish Decept-O has given. Ignore him as a childish, ignorant, twit, just looking to feed their own ego who I don't care about at all and don't want to help and so won't give them critiques.

Why you're suggesting doesn't work is because specific solicitation doesn't generally happen ever. Yes, some people say it in their thread or their thread title, but generally they don't because it doesn't cross their mind to, because as mentioned... they are putting their work out into the public sphere which is essentially the same as asking to get feedback... otherwise they should keep it to them self.

Curiously, I must ask, If I had just posted "this is crap" would you have felt it necessary to post?Would you have deleted it? If you wouldn't have posted for that why would you even consider posting telling someone to stop doing something positive instead of telling the "artists" to grow up. Likewise if you delete negative comments then what value do the positive ones have? Aren't you just supporting shallow egotism which is the problem with many many things today, including comics? And why would you support that? Don't you want better products? Don't you want people to do better?

I have an affection for brunette-headed characters, especially long-haired ones. I like how you depicted hers as flowing plus the shine on top and continuing with that observation, I really, really like the tones of different purple on her face which show the shadowing of said hair.

She comes across very pretty and fluid, great job.

I gave you some guidance you can choose to take it or not. If you enjoy conflict with people on the site over building positive relationships, keep doing what you do in the manner that you did here.

To the content of your post, whats odd to me is in a different thread you said you offer critiques because you care about the person and their work. If you don't care about decept-o, whats your purpose in posting here? If you're just now finding out you don't care about decept-o because he doesn't care for your criticism, there's going to have to be a better way for you to figure out who you care about on this forum than poking each artist to see if they bite. You could post a thread offering your criticism "post art here for feedback on your work", fan-fic has a similar thread pinned. Or you could post in the thread that you want to critique "ok if I critique it?" and wait for the artist's reply. Maybe 9 times out 10 you'll get a yes, but you should still be respectful of the one that doesn't want it. This is just a suggestion, not a rule, but keep in mind that mods don't want to have to put out fires you're starting.

If people soliciting criticism generally doesn't happen that might give you some inkling that people may not be looking for that in this forum. In my experience what you're doing here and in other threads gets a mixed response- some will be appreciative (when it is constructive), others will want to pummel you with a mallet. Some are more sensitive than others about their work, if you're going to play the role of the roaming art critic you need to be mindful of that.

I don't know where you're getting egotism from, i've not seen that from any regular on this forum. Artists on this forum are for the most part amateurs and even the ones that might have earned money from their work post here with a degree of humility. No one here is puffing out their chest and saying behold my masterpieces, its bizarre that you're citing ego as some prevalent issue here that needs to be checked. These are people showing off their home cooking for their fun and enjoyment, some might have higher aspirations but most just enjoy the creative process, showing their progression, interacting with other artists, etc. Artists here are improving and doing better, decept-o in particular has improved significantly since joining the site.

I don't delete posts unless the content of the post is abusive, profanity-laden, spam, or obvious flamebait/trolling. "this is crap" comes close to the latter.

@shatterstar: You know what, I could give you a long post where you're wrong and how you are wrong and be all mean to Decept-O, but I'll refrain and just point out that I'm not breaking the rules. They're posting on a forum and if they just want "wow good" replies they should talk to their family, not post things on the internet. Too bad for them if they can't handle being critiqued. Too bad for them that they'd want to pummel me. That's on them, not on me.

@lifeboy: Thanks. Oh I saw that White Witch had recently "changed" into the Black Witch from the LOSH. I have been a Legion fan on and off but only due to finances. Really really want to keep up with what's been happening. I thought this was different. Just liked her appearance as well and thought it'd be fun to draw her. Thanks.

@lykopis Thanks. I am glad you like it. Very kind of you to say. I am glad you like the skin tone, that was something I wasn't certain would come across very well.

@shatterstar: Thank you for the comments and for noticing I've improved a little since I joined the site. I want to point out in my defense, I am not "touchy feely" about having someone critique my art. Sometimes I can be, sure, but not all the time as Durakken is trying to say. I know you're not saying that about me but you're trying to point out to Durakken his approach isn't a very good one.

I reacted the way I did to Durakken because he is simply being a troll. He is using the excuse that those of us who are posting our art in a public forum are "opening the door" to criticisms and we should deal with it. That I can accept but when someone is offering so called "criticisms" in a manner that is really questionable, sponsored with observations that are essentially nonsensical, and obviously filled with hate, then someone, like me, is going to step up and tell him to STFU because he is wanting attention as a troll. He knows that if anyone objects to his critiques he can use that as an opportunity to claim that we are being whiney or sensitive or have some other character flaw.

Yes I have plenty of character flaws and yes, my art leaves much to be desired, but that doesn't give him the excuse to try and paint me as lesser of a person or some type of "Little Lord Fauntleroy" type. Far from it.

The fact we're talking about him may be stoking the fire but really, I think he is the one who needs to be mature and approach using his "critiques" in a manner that is more respectable. My opinion.

This is really very well done, non-standard skin tones can be so tough (I learned that one trying to draw Poison Ivy) but this looks fabulous <3

@bumpyboo: Thank you very much. Glad you like the skin tone I did. Yes, Poison Ivy's skin tone, if you're "going green" requires the right shade. There are some markers with the correct light shade of green, it is a matter of finding them when they're available.

@decept_o: You're very welcome mate :) I guess because it is so different from a lot of your recent uploads, the colour was the first thing to jump out. But yeah, I dig it :)

I agree about Ivy though, finding the right shade is definitely the problem. Making her look green without also looking sick, radioactive or gangrenous ;)

@decept_o: I like it, she,s staring right at me...a direct stare is not so simple to draw. I also like the coloring. The only little flaw I see is the bridge of the nose. But as an artist I know it's not easy to draw beautiful, female faces. I have a hard time with that myself. Please check out my 'Spider-Man meets Batman my way' post and my 'In the Mouth of Madness' post and give me some criticism as well. I welcome it.

@blackdog2009: Yeah, the bridge of the nose, I went too dark with the colors. Thanks for the input. Glad you like what you see.
