Problem with Spider-Man movies?

Am I the only one that was disappointed that he didn't have web-shooters? I mean it makes sense that he might be able to make it naturally, however I find that the web-shooters add so much to the story cause it's an added component that he has to worry about. A good portion of the time the villain gets away just because he runs out of web fluid.
