In recent years we have seen a rising number of video games franchises using comics to boost the games awareness and create more memorabilia.

To name a few Mirrors Edge, Call of Duty, Gears of War, Halo, Metroid and Sonic.

I for one am happy to see comics being made using video game franchises if they are done correctly and vice versa.

What I want to know is how popular are comics based on video games? Will we see more comics based on franchises sold directly over the net like Uncharted. (Obviously dependent on PSN and X-Box Live.)

Is anyone else interested in Comics that expand the universe of the games we play?

Can anyone recommend some game franchises that have used comics as a medium that I am unaware of?

I have really got into comics over the last few years and I have to admit this is because of digital comics viewers such as Comixology and Mavels Comicbook app reader.

What is everyone else's views on digital comic? Are they future or the end of the industry?
