I like some of his stuff (Civil War, Kick Ass, Wolverine) but I think recently the whole violence and gore aspect has gotten a bit played out with his work and actually works against some of the clever ideas he's had. He's always had an element of darkness and violence in his work though. I remember reading him way back when he wrote for 2000AD. Red Razors was pretty dark and blackly comic (for the time anyway).

This is stupid. Wanda should've been asked if she will help restore the mutant population and her say "no". Mutants have been pretty horrible for her all around and the idea of her telling the Avengers and X-Men to f*** off would've been great.

Maaaan, that would be one short conversation..... Cyclops (struggling to hold back wolverine): "So, Wanda, the past few years have kind of sucked, what with all the mutant depowerments and deaths. How about reversing it?" Wanda: " No, F*** off." Wolverine: "WHAT!!!!" snikt Wanda: "You've all been pretty horri- urk, gurggle! (sound of last breath being breathed) Hawkeye: " I f***ed a doombot?!?

I doubt wolverine could kill her that way. Wanda got hit by one of Hawkeye's arrows and just altered reality and was fine not to mention she could kill wolverine with ease whenever she feels like it.

Um, yeah, that wasn't a serious attempt at taking down Wanda. Though you've made me ponder how you would! Sure she has reality altering powers and of she sees any threat heading her way she could turn weapons into monkeys and what-not, but I guess she's have to see/hear/smell? it coming first. If she were oblivious to any threat then surely a good ol sniper shot when she's out for a coffee and a muffin would do the trick? To be fair, I don't know much about her skill/power set other than she does magic 'n stuff.

I know, how about Darwin as assassin (discounting the fact he'd never do it!). His power is adapt to survive, but I don't think this has been tested against a magical assault.. For example, if Wanda attempted to erase him from reality, would his power counter this by moving him outside the current plane of existence in the nick of time and returning him when it's safe?

@EmmaGrace: i just read on hope's page that emma and hope did have a spat because hope walked out of Emma's class and was criticizing how the mutant girls dressed and that cable would have hated emma and stormed out and emma threatened her and hope threatened her back saying she would burn emma to cinder

she is a brat because she was yelling at Prof. X saying that the institute was the wrong thing to do because it separated the mutants from the human population she almost made it sound like he locked the mutants in the school instead of take them in and protect them

I didn't read it as her yelling at Prof X. Talking, yeah, but not yelling. She had valid points as did the Prof. Think the scene was basically intended to read as Prof X and Magneto having polar opposite views back in the day, but Hope looking at them and perhaps seeing flaws in both (the implication being that means to forge her own way and the old arguments are perhaps not as valid as they once were). Didn't read bitchy to me. Just her questioning and older generations views, which lets face it, pretty much ALL teens do!

And the burn to a cinder thing. Is this hope talking, or the phoenix or Jean even? Given all these phoenix like flare ups, whose to say that Hopes bitchier moments are actually Hopes thoughts. Could be the influence of the Phoenix (hence Logans wariness of Hope in Uncanny X Men 539).

@fodigg: Exactly!  She can be as powerful as she wants and have all the military knowledge that exists, if she doesnt follow any orders and doesn't respect the chain of command then shes no better then one else on that island.
Yeah but that's the whole point! She's been dropped into a situation where there is this rigid chain of command with General Cyclops in charge, a man she holds partly responsible for Cables death. Reckon it would be kind of difficult to immediately step in line  and respect the chain of command when she doesn't respect the leader. She's a fish out of water with the headstrong character of Cable and no immediate continual threat to fight anymore (Bishop). Also, lets be honest, it would be kinda boring if she immediately 'got' everything, followed orders and was all happy and content.

Hopes basically a regular moody teen that has to contend with people seeing her as a messiah/hating her/avoiding her which would explain why emotions run high when anyone messes with the five lights, not just her team but pretty much her only friends. Add to that her step-mom being killed, chased for the first 17 years of her life through an apocalyptic future by Bishop, returning to the present to find that an insane sentinel wants to kill you, seeing your step-dad killed, being stuck on utopia, etc, then you're lucky that she's only a teen that goes through immature bitchy  spells instead of an insane/psychopathic/post-traumatic wreck.

Kitty did call Prof X a jerk!  What a bitch!  :P

The tone of the X Men books in recent years has been grim and gritty. I think colorful costumes would detract from this and uniform style costumes make more sense, especially since Cyclops is running the X Men like an army.

Agree that the New X Men uniforms were cool!

I really like bachalo's style and clever use of page layout, though I do agree that now and then this means following what's happening can be a challenge. However, his choice of colors can be odd. The Storm and Gambit one-shot he did for curse of the vampires had great art but absolutely horrible coloring! Really bland and murky.  Kind spoiled things a bit. However, the recent Avengers fear itself work, colors were great and it made the artwork shine. That's my only problem with bachalo.

For the record, I really like the Dodsons work. Okay, so they're not  Larroca or Yu levels of awesome, but they rock in a kinda Saturday monring cartoon kinda way. Waaaaaaaay, way, way better than Land!

And coipel is an amazing artist, but everyone he draws look like a twenty-something. Even Magneto!

Wolverine - Enemy of the State and Agent of Shield are pretty awesome too. Wolvie in Uncanny X-force is pretty damn perfect in my opinion (plus Deadpool doesn't suck in this either which is a bonus).
