Eh... just because Mastermind (Lady or not) might influence her, it doesn't mean we're looking at a Phoenix return. As stated in your other thread--there has been nothing pointing to the 'recall' of the Phoenix Force.
Well, in the comics the cards explode--and look like an explosion. In the movie it was straight up colored kinetic force, no real 'michael bay' explosions. That's the only difference.
Though, I did like when he hit wolvie with the deck. That's about it.
Uhm, there's nothing to state that she 're-called' the phoenix. Nothing. The only even occurrance of having the phoenix force referenced in terms of Jean is her nightmare... and that nightmare seemed to be a mashed-up dream of all the stuff she saw in Hank's mind. (i.e. Her being hunted by everyone (dark phoenix saga), Cycke with Magneto (current truth and shocking to them), and wolverine killing her followed by the phoenix rebirth (which actually happened))
So, to say for certain that she called it back, is very, very premature.
I always assumed the original x'ers to be in their mid to late thirties at this point. I mean, when young scott went into the bank, the teller thought he was supposed to be 'like 40 or something.' In which case, this just makes the Warren/Husk relationship almost as creepy as Toad's obsession with her.
An X-Factor annual when Ahab, or whatever his name was came back and reduced her to a Hound again was the first time I ever personally saw Rachel... which is why I mentioned X-Factor.
I really was going to leave this topic alone until I read your last paragraph in my PM inbox.
That statement is a VAST oversimplification that deflects the entirety of what I am saying. I am not saying by any stretch of imagination that people should hold hands and treat each other fairly. Seriously. To suggest that is missing the points I was making entirely.
What I was saying is that there is no logical reason how people do not discriminate or 'hate' or 'fear' non-mutants whose powers making them, quite honestly, ultimately frightening in scope of power. They reserve that hate and fear exclusively for mutants and not any of that prejudice on non-baseline-human heroes. Appreciating Iron Man, Captain America, Hawkeye, sure... they're human. Wonder Man? Vision? Thor? Hulkling? Spider-Man? Luke Cage? Spiderwoman? Captain Marvel? Etc, etc? I can see fearing them in terms of Xenophobia just as much as I can see people fearing mutants. To distinguish between the two is what is silly.
This was never a question of: why don't they hold hands and sing songs together? Or any other 'woe, tis not fair, just get along' comment. It was on the disparity between treatment of superpowered beings. Period.
