Posting, to hopefully generate some momentum from the others, and put an end to this in the near future...
Darksin's forum posts
Darksin watched over the proceedings from above the darkened chamber, which now housed his prisoners, and loyal follower. Through the inky blackness he could see the massive hound circling it's prey like a shark. Goodwin appeared beside him, bowed, and watched with delight as her pet prepared to "play". The Dark King continued to watch, showing no emotion, as his red eyes simply watched without blinking, as soon the power he desired would finally be his.
"This has taken too long, Goodwin." he grunted, not looking up.
"Patience, my Lord." sneered Goodwin, "My hound will strike down these two with ease, and the power will finally be your's for the taking."
"Even now, you do not see your failure. A team of similar beings have landed, and draw steadily nearer. As we speak, the front two come closer and closer. They have managed to get through defenses and traps that have killed some most promising Elites, and prisoners foolish enough to try and escape. This group has the power to actually suceed in their goal here, and you allowing your hound to "play" with the Carriers, has allowed this to happen!" he growled harshly, through gritted teeth.
At that moment a large metal door in the room below slid open, revealing the two figures Darksin had mentioned. The hound turned to the newcommers, and stealthily sliped though the shadows unnoticed to where they stood.
"She can take care of them, my Lord." smiled Goodwin, anticipating the chaos that would insue. Light suddenlt filled the room as the wolf overrode the control, while the lizard had discovered the hound. The hound's massive jaw clamped down on the reptile's arm, severing it, and spilling blood everywhere. "You see my Lord. They do not stand a chance!"
"Fool!" bellowed Darksin, now turning to Goodwin. "A second larger group is not far behind, and I have lost my prize due to your theatrics!" Below the lizard had found the two Carriers and made their escape, while the wolf faced off against the hound. "Your failure will not go unpunished, Goodwin." His hand and eyes glowed with dark energy, as if to blast Goodwin into oblivion, but only for a moment. "No... I have a much better idea." he smiled evily, as he grabbed Goodwin by the skull, and held her against the observation window. "Watch now, as your most prized possesion feels my wrath!" he pressed a button on a remote that was hidden in his massive hand. "Watch as your hound dies for your failure to me!"
"No! What have you done?!" screamed Goodwin, as the Hellhound staggered slightly as the wolf jumped on it's back, and ripped off it's ear.
"I have taken away it's healing ability with a drug embedded in it's collar." replied Darksin coldly. "It will become weaker and weaker as time passes, though, it seems it does not have much time left." At that moment, the wolf laied a finishing blow on the hound, which cried out in pain with a final howl that echoed off the walls and could be heard for miles. The only thing louder was the screams of Goodwin, as she watched her pet die. Darksin threw his follower across the room, and she tumbled across the floor. "Next time, it will be you who dies, Goodwin." he said walking out the door, back to his throneroom, while Goodwin tried to regain her composure.
"Yes, my Lord. I will not fail you again..."
It had taken years to find them. He had lost count of how many galaxies he had hunted through, and the planets he had destroyed. At long last, he had found the powers he lost so long ago. It was nearly 500 years since the Light had sacrificed himself to take away Darksin's powers. With his last ounce of strength, the Light had sent all the powers of the Dark Lord and himself across the universe, hoping for them never to be recovered. For an immortal, this was no time at all. Merely the equivalent of a grain of sand passing through the hourglass to him, and at last they were here. It had taken years to find them. He had lost count of how many galaxies he had hunted through, and the planets he had destroyed. At long last, he had found the final Lost Powers of the Cosmos. The powers of the Light.
