It had taken years to find them. He had lost count of how many galaxies he had hunted through, and the planets he had destroyed. At long last, he had found the powers he lost so long ago. It was nearly 500 years since the Light had sacrificed himself to take away Darksin's powers. With his last ounce of strength, the Light had sent all the powers of the Dark Lord and himself across the universe, hoping for them never to be recovered. For an immortal, this was no time at all. Merely the equivalent of a grain of sand passing through the hourglass to him, and at last they were here. It had taken years to find them. He had lost count of how many galaxies he had hunted through, and the planets he had destroyed. At long last, he had found the final Lost Powers of the Cosmos. The powers of the Light.
"Kneel before Darksin, Lord of Armageddon!" one of his guards ordered the prisoners. The guards were purely ornamental. Simple followers of the Dark One, who were there to do the dirty work, a king could not be bothered to do. Killing these two was not one of them. Within the two tiny earth-creatures were the powers he had sought after for so long.
The Dark One turned slowly, his deep crimson eyes, locking on the two harborers of power. He towered over the small kneeling figures, as he paced back and forth slowly in front of them, like a shark, circling it's prey.
"Screw this. I'm not kneeling." said the male in white, getting to his feet.
"Kneel!" shouted a guard, smashing him back down to the ground with the hilt of his axe. No emotion showed on the Dark Lord's face, as he searched their minds for information.
"You are the ones." stated the Dark One. His deep voice echoed through the silent hall. "How wise of you to split the power of the Light by touching the vessel at the same time."
The female was the one to speak up this time. "I don't know what the hell you're talking about. I'm a mutant. It's in my genetics."
"Your head is filled with lies." The Dark One answered, bombarding the human with a telepathic attack, destroying mental barriers within her mind, and unlocking memories that had lay hidden for years. The woman fell to the floor in shock, as the memories flooded her mind, before she blacked out. "As for you," he he said, turning to the male again. "You have access to the Speed Force, yet mentally, you cannot keep up with it. You believe to be a genius and have a mastery of your powers. You clearly know nothing of the power you hold, human." He could sense the rage building up within the mortal.
"I'll show you what I am a master of!" yelled the human, as he "teleported" out of range of the guard, drew his sword and rushed the Lord of Armageddon. A powerful blast of energy from Darksin hand caught the human square in the chest, freezing him in time.
"Foolish." he laughed, before ordering the guards. "Return these two to the power-dampening cells at once. This time, strip them of their accessories and clothing, so that they do not escape again, or you will suffer the fate of the last imbeciles." He pointed to the window, where the impaled bodies of three guards could be seen burning, still slightly alive. "Make sure they remain there until the sacrificial ceremony is prepared. I have waited too long for this to let it slip away from me now."
The guards bowed before hauling the bodies out of the throne room. Darksin turned to look over his kingdom, and looked up to the stars in the night sky. "Soon it will all be mine. Hahahahah!"
