The plot really didn't move again for as much as I wanted. I was really glad with the direction the book was going, it was very original and fun but now I can almost (if not completely) map out how the story will go.
I feel the same, during the start of the book i felt it was heading a certain direction and i was really excited and enjoying it (loved the crowd scenes) but then at the end it took a turn to some predictable territory :( Hope Johns has something more deeply thought out/original for the remainder of this story.
I did still like the issue, though i felt it kept with the slow burn but suddenly there's the kind of disappointing reveal with Ulysses character and the big fight ramps things up and then it ends!! I really have a love hate relationship with those endings that leave me flipping the pages for more and then realising i have to wait another month and that makes me go aargh!
One moment that did make me lol was that page where Ulysses headbutts Superman. I mean i think he headbutted him pretty hard since apparently the space around superman warped causing his torso to distort and elongate :'D hahaha oh JRjr really cracks me up sometimes. That splash page of the ship over the city was awesome though.
I know how you feel and looking at next issue cover this fight look like it gonna be good
