History
Drake Forrik is a member of a tribe from the planet Virtus. Each of the different peoples from planet Virtus possesses a different skill. Forrik’s clan possess the uncanny capability for learning, remembering and perfectly replicating fighting styles as well as perfect counters to them. Their bodies also adapt slightly to allow them to perform particularly difficult movements and techniques.
Forrik was unusually gifted, even for his clan, and as such, worked, first as a vigilante on the playground, protecting innocent children from bullies, and later as a police officer. He had a high moral stance, and was an exceptional officer; wearing the injuries he received as a badge of honour, as would any man of his clan. The major problem was when he was partnered up. His partner was a corrupt officer, and Drake refused to be a party to it. Drake went to the station chief, only to find out that the station chief himself had masterminded the corruption. Being a man of honour, Drake offered the officers one day to turn themselves in before he took them down. A handful did, but the higher ranking police officers tried to kill him and burned his house down. Kicked off the force, and dying from his injuries, burns and smoke inhalation, Drake managed to stow away on a medical vessel, but was caught stealing supplies to help heal his various injuries.
The personnel on the ship were more understanding than his own clan, and healed him back to full health, and dropped him off on the nearest inhabited planet, where Drake set himself up as a vigilante. The first load of unconscious criminals was delivered at night, outside the police station, tied up with thin black rope that was unbreakable, and a detective highly experienced in the tying of knots had to untie the rope. He later said “the knot tied in that rope was one of the most perfect knots I have ever had to unpick. Whoever tied that knot must have a lot of experience and skill.” It became something of a routine. Almost every day at sunrise, a new pile of criminals would be found on the front steps of the police station, unconscious, tied up or both. As an officer of the law, Forrik eventually began leaving letters now and then with the criminals, listing names and crimes. After a while, he began signing the paper “D.F.”. Through the language, they found out that the vigilante was from Virtus, and they began referring to him as the “Dark Fang of Virtus”, believing that was what “D.F.” stood for. After a while, Drake moved his position to Earth, where a team of space-faring adventurers were being planned.
Powers
Enhanced human stats – All of his physical attributes are a hair above peak human. He can lift approximately 900 pounds without a spotter.
Enhanced intelligence – His brain creates and refreshes neural pathways approximately 3 times faster than the average human. This gives him the ability to perceive events a lot faster and in a lot more depth than a human, and gifts him with an advanced intellect. He has an I.Q. of 358, but rarely uses it academically, it is primarily used to help him learn and counter new styles in the midst of combat. It is often misconstrued as ‘telepathic potential’.
Healing factor - An evolved ability present on his home planet, Drake is annoyingly hard to kill, although it can be done. If near to death, his body goes into a 'healing coma', where it appears to be dead whilst it heals severe wounds.
Photographic reflexes – When Drake sees a move performed, he can replicate it perfectly, as long as he has the physical and psychological necessities required to perform that particular move.
Abilities
Eidetic memory – Common on his home planet, Drake has the ability to perfectly recall any past event, along with the sense memories most strongly associated with that time.
Fighting abilities - Having encountered everything from martial arts masters to street thugs, Drake has an near endless arsenal of fighting techniques and moves, both with and without weapons
Equipment
Mask - The mask has two main components, the hood and the lower face covering. The latter protects Drake from various chemical agents. The hood serves as a telepathic shield, making him incredibly resistant to all but the strongest telepathic assaults.
The Thrice Named Sword - The Thrice Named Sword is an alien artefact, that even Drake does not know its origins. It fell to him during an investigation. The blade has a myriad of divine blessings from all kinds of alien deities, and as such, has an equally vast number and variety of abilities. As of the current time, it appears to be no more than an average katana sword, but it has not displayed its many abilities in combat yet, barring its legendary ability to cut through any matter. It clashes only with another blade, for reasons as of yet unknown.
