@dreamfall31: Please let your manager be kidding. Poor kid. And that goes for the Kal-Els, too. If a person wants to give something a weird comic book name, they should get a pet.

Anyway, fun podcast, all, and I especially liked the fair-minded comments as regards Ben Affleck. And I loved Jersey Girl, lots of charm and a bit of Sondheim.

@g_man Have you come across Dr Who spin-off The Sarah-Jane Adventures with the late, wonderful Lis Sladen? That was specifically made for children, and would likely give her that Who vibe.

Hurrah that Tony actually got a holiday, hope it was fun. And good on Jen, Gregg and Mat (extra G, missing T, stop it!) for giving us a podcast, I didn't find it especially awkward as regards the Skype. What I especially liked was the decision not to simply spend loads of time on the comic reviews, as it often winds up being:

'Who read this?'

'Not me'

'OK, who read this'.

'Me, here's what I said in my review'

I vote for a rotation between the current Gang of Five.

Mind, I do miss the days when we could safely assume comic fans didn't care about sport - all that American Football talk, blimey!

Worry not about the accidental plugs, I'm sure M--- E------ will survive a week with no mention ;)

Oh, and Corey, the Mandarin wasn't named for the fruit or the language, it's from the other meaning, a high-ranking official. So the name is a bit Kingpinny.

Regarding the lad who is embarrassed to have his loved ones know he reads comics, honestly, just relax and enjoy. It's perhaps the apparent need for affirmation that's making it feel like a problem - why does the girlfriend have to read them too? Its OK for halves of a couple to have interests the other doesn't get.

Unless GL lore has changed, which it does a lot, the oath was traditionally more of a timing device to get the charge right, than a necessity. The inspirational words are an optional extra.

@undeadpool Hiya Corey, Brits don't tend to pronounce 'cuckoo' with an 'ock' sound, it's just standard 'uh' as in 'huckleberry'.

And given that the Stepford Cuckoos are mini-Emmas rather than the real one, perhaps they don't adopt the British affectation, especially since they're distancing themselves from her at the moment. So your normal sweet tones are fine!

In other news, you finally pronounced Frazer Irving's for name as 'Frazer'- nice one!

Good show, as ever.

@g_man Thanks for the chat with Sterling Gates, it's true, Vibe is a wee gem of a book and I hope more people discover it.

And I hope anyone who missed SG's Supergirl run tries a trade, he and Jamal Igle gave us the best Girl of Steel in years. I miss that gal!

@missj Welcome to Jen, hi there, you sounded delightfully engaged.

@undeadpool So Corey, you're an am dram man? That explains so much!

And thanks to Corey for explaining the appeal of Cassie Cain Batgirl. she never clicked with me - I was put off by the costume and killer background, and the artwork in the early issues of her comic.

@g_man Nice one, Tony, on being quoted on the back of a Marvel trade. I had a nice surprise recently when I spotted a couple of letters I wrote in the Nextwave collection.

And is it indeed so that few people in the US buy DVDs? Blueray never seemed to take off here in the UK, we're happy to save cash and squint.

I found Uncanny Avengers the worst issue yet. There wasn't enough of the team members, with only Sunfire and Thor getting good, entertaining play, and far too much of the Apocalypse Twins. Am I the only Marvel reader who finds anything to do with his Horsemen utterly snoresome?

@g_man Great show, the both of you. I'm with Norm in terms of accepting that the cinematic Marvel U gets to be as fantastical as the comics - I've no problem with a personality-filled Jarvis or fire.

Heck, I'd have loved magical rings to light up Iron Man 3.
