bring Jesse back

Back in April 1995 a cursed was cust among the comic shop and a spawn was placed on the stands, named "the Preacher".
Born from the fiendish mind of Garth Ennis, the helish pen of the britishman Steve Dillon
(man why did you stop working in w.origins?you were addictive dude!)
and spread into the public by Vertigo till october 2000 for five doomed years.

One of the most controversial, horrific and extravagant comic books ever, filled extensively with graphic violence
but always leting a sense of freedom, rightousness and justice.Hailed by many critics and fans around the world, however,
being hit by censorship and a lot of critisim, both the publishers and the artists had decided to it end suprisingly after a five year run.

So let me set thing straight...
How many Jesses fans are left out ther?
How many of you still waiting for Cassidy to come back with his caustic houmor to eat some bastards alive or see Tulip out of control bursting bullets an braking some nouses?
SOOO CUSTERS FANS LETS MAKE A STAND AND LEAD THE ROAD FOR THE PREACHERS RETURN(someday I hope!)
Are you with me?
what do you think?

" No one mentioned the word superhero. I ws just pointing out Jesse's not like the superheroes. His story doesn't just go on and on.  Ennis told the story his story and I'm happy with it.  It's like the hollywood thing of taking a good movie, turning it into a franchise and carrying on untill it's all gone wrong and no one even remembers what it ws they liked about it to begin with.  Preacher is what it is. It's over now.  Besides, this is all academic because I'm pretty sure Enniss has no intention of going back to it and I know I wouldn't want to read a Preacher story by anyone else. "
Agreed but it sucks when one of your favorite books, with a good and a inspiring plot and convenient end, after some years turned to be unfinished in some areas.
It would be disappointed if someone tries to reborn the story(even w/Ennis as a story teller)but it pissed me off when I read the interview of Ennis saying that there where some gaps due to censorship

Emmm!does anyone mentioned the word superhero?
It is true that a good story has a beggining and an end but it also has a plot and knowing that it was slashed dew to censorship it sucks a wee bit!

I liked the herr starr one shot. Haha Well there wasnt any clarification on whether Cass was human in the end, only his eyes were healed. He may still have been a vamp. If he was, i think thatd have been bad because it makes both his and jesse's sacrifice a bit less impactful. Its better if Cass is mortal in the finale.

Vast Censorship?!! I honestly cant imagine anything  MORE controversial in preacher.

"

It left with that feeling that Cass was human in the end,he seemed to be purged and cleared of his bestiality(well, atleast to me)
You didnt know about censorship?
Well it is true, some people of p.m.r.c.(you know those catholic idiots achieved by Al Gores bitch wife)demanded the end of the comic
due to blasphemy, sodomy and vile language.
The thing is that if you look deeply inside the comic you can sense the irony and humor in the book,
but you must have imagination unlike pmrc.

I agree totally !!! Thats why I'm so addicted with that book and ask for reverends J.C. return! "

Im  hooked on those books as well, but i just re read them once a year, they never get old. I have them all on the trade paperbacks, and i managed to get a couple of the single issues, so i keep my eye out for them, i want to get them all.
@Dakens son: i dunno. Id love to see what their up to these days, but id hate to have a preacher return story just for the sake of one. Everything was wrapped up beautifully in the last few issues. I cant think of one plot hole in the entire book. Its perfect the way it is.  The only thing i would want would be Garth Ennis's version of how Jesus was concieved. Now that'd be funny.  Maybe Jesse could catch up to DeSade. But i dont really think that'd be worth  a one shot or something like that.   "
Naaaah!one shots are nasty.I had herr Stars oneshot first apearance and it was a bit dull.
I read in one interview months ago, that Garth Ennis had many things to apply in the comic for both Jesse,O'hare and for Cassidy but
due to vast censorship it had to be canceled,he mensioned that he wanted to keep Cassidy as a vampire but in a different state.
So learning all that staff can make you imagination explode(atleast mine).
