I recently watched the film with Michael Uslan after he gave a talk on the struggle he went through to pitch the movie to hollywood executives. Considering the push-back that the idea of a serious comic book film was up against at the time it is kind of a marvel that this film is mostly true to its origins. In many ways Batman was the spearhead of the modern comic book blockbuster film movement.

Looks like they want to move to 3 movies a year starting in 2017, except for that weird one year gap between the two parts of Avengers: Infinity War. I wonder if that will be filled by anything else.

DC is kinda going at this from the opposite direction of Marvel. Marvel put together a bunch of solo films and built towards their team-up movie. DC seems like they are planning to introduce characters in their big cross-over movies and then flesh them out in solo films.

I'm happy to get a Wonder Woman movie either way. I'm happy to see that they are going with the Brian Azzarello inspired origin story and that rumor about her being Kryptonian was complete nonsense. Marvel with all their success seem like their still afraid to tryout a female lead.

DC Original Movies cancelled the Wonder Woman 2 and Batgirl: Year One films despite the Wonder Woman solo film selling a bit better than their Justice League movies. She just didn't sell as fast as the Batman / Superman solo films.

It doesn't seem like they have setup an excuse for no civilians so far, so hopefully there will be some non-combatants wandering the streets and getting mugged.

After the finale of Arkham City the Arkham universe is in a interesting place. Bringing back the Scarecrow as the supposed big bad is interesting since he was the best boss fight in Arkham Asylum. You know that based on the shenanigans that went on in the last 30 minutes of Arkham City that he is unlikely to be the one pulling the strings though.

Looks fun, looks like James Gunn was given a lot of freedom. Keep in mind this trailer was made to air on Jimmy Kimmel, there will be more plot focused trailers with a bit more serious tone to come.

Karen Gillan is nearly unrecognizable as Nebula.

Played a couple hours when it unlocked on Steam at 9pm PST. It is good but I'm not quite feeling it yet. The new larger Gotham feels kind of sparser than Arkham City did. Indoor areas look amazing mostly thanks to great lighting but the city feels just kind of boxy and a bit empty.

Some continuity stuff is kind of bugging me a bit too. Like you start with the grapnel boost, which lets you launch off buildings at high speeds. It is integral to getting around the city quickly but it was supposed to be untested prototype hardware in Arkham City so its a bit strange its par for the course in Arkham Origins.

I am enjoying the game but it hasn't hooked me yet. Maybe when I start running into the assassins the game will pick up a bit.

That would be pretty cool if this turns out to be an actual thing, maybe their gauging audience reaction before deciding if this is just a bat-mite thing or not. The Batgirl: Year One movie got cancelled due to the sales performance of the Wonder Woman movie which was a damn shame since that movie was so good.

I'm glad they decided to focus all their resources on single player, they are already making a bigger game, also adding multiplayer could have been too much to handle.

That said I wouldn't mind some seperate co-op campaign in a future game. Question is who would he pair up with? Robin? Catwomen? Killer Croc?
