A couple of things to note

1. Themyscira has actually been identified in the DCTVU (Legends of Tomorrow) and the Amazons along with it ... I wouldn't be shocked to see more appearances of Helen of Troy and possibly some other Amazons attached to the show in the next season.

2. There has been at least 1 development attempt made for a WW TV show called "Amazon" (writer Allan Heinberg was attached to the project). WB/CW chose to not produce the pilot back in 2014.

I suspect WB is entertaining ideas around WW for a 2019/2020 pilot attempt ... it can take several years for a development project to produce a pilot so I am not surprised that only 1 year out from the film success that we don't yet have a viable TV project. But I also wouldn't expect the project to necessarily be about Diana, since they've already teased historical Amazons in LoT a spin off of that concept might be the most logical direction to go ... more of a focus like Krypton or Gotham is showing us.

And thank the Gods that show was cancelled. That pilot episode looked absolutely horrible. This is why I am afraid for a Wonder Woman TV show. I'd rather not have a show than have something so mediocre.

You are thinking about the David E Kelley show that actually got a Pilot ... the one I'm referring to never even filmed a pilot, it was just in development and never got off the ground!

Meh ... why do DC and Marvel consistently feel the need to stage hero fights? I wish we could get back to the days when the heroes actually fought villains, now everything has to be "Civil War" all the time.

If you posted this last year it would be relevant. The hero vs hero thing hasn't been played out for quite some time now. Besides many people like having their heroes pitted against other heroes every now and then. And its barely happened if at all in Dianas own book.

Oh come on ... this is a consistent theme in every medium right now ... for god's sake the JL movie just did it, Avengers just did it too. Just to name a few, in her own book, Diana has fought Superman, Powergirl, Supergirl (multiple times), GL, Flash, Orion and let's not forget the entire "Amazon's Attack" story line. If you start looking at Justice League and cross overs like Flashpoint she's fought a LOT of heroes over the years. Not to mention the entire Injustice reality that includes comics and video games. I swear in the last decade it feels like we've seen more Hero on Hero fights than villains! I don't really mind the occasional scuffle between them, but it's just been overdone over the last 10+ years IMO.

Post Crisis Wonder Woman did it better on Darkseid after Our Worlds at War. Robinson's run is a mediocre train wreck.

LOL ... this ... totally agree ... Post-Crisis version for the win.

Wonder Woman most glaring problem was her villains. The General, Dr Poison, Ares were just generic evil guys.

We live in post Joker,Loki,Bane world where villains are just as popular as the heroes.

Ares shows up at the very last 10 min of the movie. That's too short time to either like or hate him. He is just a bland villain. And when he transformed with his mustache showing under the helmet, it was more funny than intimidating. Most marvel movies also have really generic villain.

What Black Panther has is a villain whose motives make sense. He was also sympathetic and badass.

I'd say Dr. Poison and the Ludendorf were a little strange only due to the WWI setting ... they are both Nazi style villains so didn't 100% fit in to WWI era but I don't think there was ever a question about Ares being in the movie.

Which is the better isolationist utopia that sent a royal to the outside world?

Who made the better movie? Marvel or DC?

What's the final box office take going to look like? Will Black Panther edge out Wonder Woman in overall revenue?

Will it get the Oscar Wonder Woman didn't?

I'm not sure Themyscira is truly an isolationist nation. They don't really have the option of entering the outside world without essentially being lost to their home forever.

I'd call it a draw. I thoroughly enjoyed both movies. Wonder Woman is easily the best thing DCEU/WB has produced since the Batman franchise. BP has proven itself to be a first rate offering within the MCU, but frankly has more competition in that arena than WW does over at WB.

Obviously BP is crushing it ... currently in 10th all time with $1.3B, will likely settle in around 7th or 8th all time when all is said and done. Wonder Woman had a phenomenal run and beat all expectations so I suspect the sequels for both of these films will do even bigger numbers.

I sincerely doubt there will be Oscars in any major category for BP ... possibly some editing/technical/effects stuff, but the genre is largely ignored for Acting/Directing/Writing awards from the Academy.

I think a lot depends on if Agents of Shield gets renewed (still not confirmed). Inhumans play a large role in that show and it's possible that ABC (Disney) will give Inhuman's a season two as a compliment to AoS (much like they did for Agent Carter).
