I'm particularly drawn to what Brevoort said regarding this Marvel Now fiasco:
We brought fans the biggest comic book event imaginable in Avengers VS. X-Men and now we’re taking the Marvel Universe to an exciting new place, beginning with Uncanny Avengers #1. If you’re a long-time fan, all the stories you’ve read will give you even more enjoyment of what’s happening now—we’re not abandoning our past. But if you’re a new reader, this is where you’re going to learn just why Marvel comics are unlike anything else you’ve ever read. And no character is left unaffected by Marvel NOW!.
Didn't he say the same thing with "The Heroic Age"?
It's a big Marvel Universe out there, and there are dozens of characters and situations that are asked about by our fans, but that we don't really have anyplace to address in print when we go through one of these seismic shifts. So this time out, seeing as how Heroic Age will impact on characters both large and small, we thought it might be fun to do an anthology to delve into some of these stories and to touch upon some of these characters.
Q: How are you going to beat DC's new 52? A: They won't be reactionary to what other people are doing. "We kick their ass all the time. There's a reason their doing it. They need to win a month."
Marvel is dragging it on to win 5 months. That is how he kicks their ass all of the time. (Dbag)
And yet they got beaten since September, with sweeps in February and March. Aquaman alone beat all of their Marvel titles in sales. Marvel's reboot means that they need to win at least one of those 5 months, otherwise this will be their failure.
I've been trying to remain "cautiously optimistic", or simply disinterested with Marvel books as of late.. but I can't with this. I don't even need to know more. It just.. ugh.
My sentiments exactly. AvX was just the final straw. And what was it that Joe Q said last year at SDCC?

I think that Snyder did EXACTLY what the whole purpose of the DCnU and the reboot was: To simplify alot of confusing, convoluted crap for new readers. The original ideas (that of Bruce having a brother and then Morrison naming a Thomas Wayne Jr.) were simply conbined and simplified into ONE idea that made more sense than alternate realities and all that confusing stuff.
Also, a dream team-up I would LOVE to see: Hush and Thomas Wayne Jr. Imagine it, Hush trying to help Thomas gain control of the family fortune, both guys having a personal grudge against Bruce, not just Batman as most of his rogue's gallery do.
The psychotic trio against Batman: Hush, Thomas Jr., and James Jr. Best team-up ever.
