Not at all.

If you're reading New Avengers or Avengers Infinity is essentially required reading, since the stand-alones don't make sense without it, but it shouldn't be a deal-breaker for much else.

All you really need to know is that there was an intergalactic war.

Morrison's JLA is for me. It's the comic that brought me back into reading, so...

I imagine if it'd been 10 years earlier, I'd have those same feelings about Giffen and DeMatteis.

Cool Short. It's far from the worst take on Wonder Woman that I've seen.

I don't think "evil scientist" is the way to go. I think you want "prideful scientist". Like the scientists from Jurassic Park. People who thought "we're smart, we can do this" and failed to ask "should we do this?"

What hype? If anything, Superman is one of the most underplayed characters. People that don't read his books assume that he's played as an unstoppable powerhouse that never loses and always makes the right choice.

@extremis: I was hoping that post Batman RIP, Bruce would return and act in a mentoring/detective role for a while, leaving Dick to do the legwork, not unlike they've been doing on Arrow. It didn't need to be forever, but it'd have been fun.

Don't tell the Joker, I can't handle any more of that.

I think you have to go the route of genetics, trans-genesis specifically.

A team of researchers in a South Seas genetics lab are conducting trans-species genetic experiments for cancer research.

Drug runners discover the remote facility and hold the staff hostage, trying to force them to make meth and other drugs. A shootout ensues and all of the humans in the main lab end up dying when a bullet punctures the Halon gas fire suppression system in the main lab.

The mature animals in the lab all starve ultimately, but a transgenic lizard egg was in the process of being transferred to an incubator at the time of the shootout and hatches several days later.

@jointron33: This post is the biggest waste of time. You just picked a topic you knew people would like and wrote a stale, generic diatribe about it to try to start a flame war. Better than you have tried.
