I think this looks interesting. I'm certainly willing to give it a try.

is it just me or i am noticing is dc gradually getting better then marvel now a days. Marvel is starting to get lame with the uncanny-x men and hulk with shield? i read the issue and i didnt see the rampage or free what so ever destruction i wanted. to me it looks like dc is taking the lead this year especially with flash, batman, and superman.

Dc has been better than Marvel for the past decade now.

Yeah, ten years ago my pull list was roughly even with the big two. Now it doesn't have a single Marvel title.

I'd really prefer a rebooted Batman that looks (and sounds) more like TAS Batman.

I'm reserving judgement on how good this could be until after I see Man of Steel and whether I want to see other heroes in that style. I'm hopeful about it from what I've seen so far and if I have any real criticism of Snyder's Watchmen, it would be that it was too much like the comic when it might have benefited structurally from a few changes. The Marvel films have all been great because of that faithfulness to the source material, so Snyder might really be the best guy for the job.

As for Batman, I'd want to see him rebooted to be more in line with his comic book self. A solo film where he takes on one of his super-powered villains would go some way to explaining how he gets to stand along side the other Justice Leaguers. If Bale is sticking around, he really needs to drop that ridiculous voice. He'd just look silly trying that when he's stood next to a guy who speaks normally and can tear you apart like tissue paper.

If the Marvel films have taught us anything, it's that being "realistic" isn't as important as bringing the essence of the character out. Thor is probably the closest to Wonder Woman and that was loaded with fantasy elements. The drama really should be about her trying to fit into our world, which is something most people can relate too. But that should be balanced with her beating up minotaurs, real minotaurs, not some guy in a silly outfit who calls himself the Minotaur. I'd personally prefer it to be a film than a TV show so they have the budget to do it well, but if they can do it on TV then awesome.

Also, the Marvel films show that audiences are okay with heroes from very different backgrounds coming together. Feel free to have her guest star in Arrow, or Oliver show up in her show.

I can't help but be a bit nervous about this film, Superman is my favourite superhero after all. So far though I don't have the massive warning bells going off that I had when I heard news about Superman Returns (which wasn't as bad as people on here are making out, it was mediocre), so may be I'll stick with "cautious optimism".

I think presenting a realistic world for Superman to inhabit is fine, I think it could provide a good contrast with Superman's brighter nature. Done properly, it could really show why Superman is an inspirational figure in a cynical world. Of course it can come off as cheesy as a mouse's happiest dreams if it's done badly.

5 years later and I'm still confused over how Black Adam and Namor's abilities are kind of similar

Reading the thread again 5 years later, I'm also confused as to how they are all that similar. They both have black hair and pointy ears I guess, but that would make Spock a Namor rip-off too.

As far as the idea that one side rips off the other goes, it's important to remember that a lot of writers an artists have drifted from one publisher to the other over the years and they bring their ideas with them.

When they're done as a stand alone series, I love cross-overs. Especially the inter-company ones, JLA/Avengers was great as was Marvel versus DC. It's when they become events that spill into lots off titles that I get wary, but that's usually characters within one company.

If someone sees it and thinks that Batman is an Avenger or Spider-man's in the Justice League, I don't really worry. We were all there once and I would hope we as comic fans would be cool enough to help them and get to show off our nerd knowledge by pointing to obscure comics where they do team up or go on a discussion about what that might look like.

This is fantastic news. I couldn't care less about the film, but it should keep Liefeld from ruining another comic for a while.
