Cassandra Cain is and has always been Batgirl for me. I was only comfortable with Barbara as Batgirl in the animated series because it fit that universe (which was very kid centric). DC comic universe Cass was the one for the cowl. Barbara fans (the ones on dcboards) have no idea what the hell they are talking about regarding reasons for why she deserves it. Cassandra was snubbed the role because of idiotic blunders by the writing staff of Dc. Cass's issues stomped over any stories Babs had. Her role as the knowledge broker was beyond awesome and her avatar unit which Bruce gave her in Batman Inc was a brilliant idea. The Batgirl idea is such a step backwards it's not even funny.

I'm tired of all the grasping at straws we do in threads and thought we could settle it here.

What so you think Talia should be drawn as she was in issue 12 in Batman & Robin? Dude get over it. Talia is somewhat of asian descent and her asian features were more dominant than Arabic(which were shown via jewlery. On another note Talia is still feeling the effect of Nyssa's manipulations prior to OYL IIRC.

What about the guy standing behind her? I initially thought it was an adult Damian(artificially aged) but I would'nt be surprised if it turns out to be Bane,especially since Morrison thinks his ID deserves to be kept hidden longer than Leviathans.

It CAN'T be Bane. Talia slapped him for making a move on her, and Ra's LOL'ed at him for failing to be a heir.

Brilliant summary of feud between Bats/Bruce's enemies. Although if Hurt is such a Wayne clan enemy the dude should've met Bruce outside his alter-ego rather than when he was in it. Would've made things interesting.

I've been contemplating this question ever since I finished up Batman Arkham City. Strange is a brilliant chessmaster yet Hurt totally broke down Bruce mentally, physically and put his cunning to the ultimate test. Although if you consider the challenge in the final stages of Arkham City you could say the same of Strange.

Anyway getting back on topic let’s say Marvel acquired the rights to Batman. That doesn't mean they acquired the rights to Gotham, the Joker, Alfred, etc. Essentially all you would have is Batman and you would have to do a new origin story as well unless Marvel paid for the rest of the Batman Mythos intellectual property. So Batman wouldn't be the Batman you all would know but an entirely new character and to be blunt why would marvel want Batman? It’s a legitimate question. Marvel already has a ton of characters and teams that do well and trying to shoehorn Batman in would be a major challenge and he wouldn't have the same status in the marvel universe as he does in DC since Marvel would have to downgrade too many of their top characters to give him that status. So unless Warner Bros get tired of having DC comics around and decides to sell them to Marvel/Disney it’s not going to happen.

Well Marvel would probably want Batman because they're tired of their shitty rendition of him (Moon Knight).
