My husband has been a comic book collector/aficionado since the 1970s. Our guest room closet is filled to the brim with his comic book storage boxes (storing his extremely vast collection). These boxes are all white with no outer character and no indication of the treasure that is held within! After he amassed so many boxes and started to have trouble remembering which comic book series/titles were in which box, I had a crafty idea that would help. So over a year ago, I found some comic books around town that were not in the best shape and decided to re-purpose their pages for my project. I took ones that matched up with the titles he collects and decoupaged them all around the outside and lid of one of his comic book boxes. I then put a layer of matte finish on the outside in order to give the comics a layer of protection. The result was great, and he loved it as a comic book collector. I started to do more of them, and then on a whim I decided to list my custom services on my Etsy page. I started off with just a couple of orders here and there last year, but after a while, and after I posted more examples, it really took off! I then started decoupaging comic images on to just about anything I could; a couple of those items can be found on my etsy site as well.
This past Christmas season, I had close to 25 orders for custom boxes that were going to be given as gifts! I have been truly pleased with the result, I try to keep the price as low as I can, and I enjoy hearing the feedback from happy customers.
