Watchmen is a must for comic readers, even though I don't find it that great.

Jason Aaron's Scalped is one of the best vertigo books out there

Garth Ennis run is perfect for any punisher fan
John Byrne and Jonathan Hickman's runs on the "World's Greatest Comic Magazine" have been nothing short but Fantastic.
