My Slayer Scythe

I made this paper mache replica earlier this year - it was my first real attempt at paper mache so I  know it isn't super amazing, but I quite like it. I wanted to share it with you all. Comments are appreciated! I will also be posting a few of my fan-art painting in later blogs.

@Eleemos:
Thank you! My paper mache skills were almost non-existant before.  For such a child-level craftt, paper mache sure is difficult.

@BoOMbOoMpOw:
lol, yes I am sure. The only part that isn't paper mache is the leather looking bit in the middle - its some weird fabric that I found in a discount bin.

AMAZING! I want it!

@blur1528Thanks!
@SCI'm glad you like it. IT was kind of difficult to make, and it's slightly larger than the scythe prop used in the show. It also has a gloss on it now, because some of the paint started to chip. I Also made Vera, Jayne's gun from Firefly / Serenity - I think I posted it in my photos, not sure. I don't do that much arts and crafts anymore, I am much too impatient.  It's a good hobby though, if you have a ton of free time.
@jeanlucpicard lol, nope.
@Billy Batson Thank you!!
@ReneeThanks hon =D   I really wanted a replica, but they are so darn expensive so I decided to make one.

@COINRETURNSLOT:  Oh wow, that looks really intricate! That gun, I have only watched Serenity but not the actual show yet... so I had to google it. Thats just great, your really talented!

I know what you mean about time. I tried making the Pont du Gard out of paper mache but well, I sucked, and impatient, so I ended up using cardboard lol *shrugs*

@SC: Thank you again!  Yea the gun didn't turn out as well, but I'm still happy with it.
Using cardboard for the base of paper mache is always a good idea, especially if you are making a weapon or a stand alone object. I used some so I could get the shape right. I'm sure you're project turned out well either way.
