Does this story take place in the pre flashpoint universe? After reading the first three issues I thought so, but Hippolyta is a blonde.

i have been a DC reader for more than a decade now. i follow most of the DC books but i only read Marvel sporadically. Mainly some events. I have read Civil War, Planet Hulk, WWHulk, Chaos War, AvX, Fear Itself, Necrosha, Shadowland, Ultimatum. The most recent event I read was Black Vortex. Also i have read a couple of volumes of Elektra and Thor.

As i am cutting back on some DC books i would like to get into some regular Marvel books. I would like recommendations on a good starting point and some titles. My favorite Marvel Characters are Thor, Elektra and Captain Marvel. I like cosmic stories and also stories featuring the Hand.

Not gonna happen. If the pre flashpoint Superman takes over in the new Universe, Any story that has to do with Krypton or Superman's family and past would have no gravitas as it would be a totally different person. Also the whole supporting cast like Jimmy and Lana would be rendered moot.

What do you mean by failure? Financially ..no.. And honestly it's the only parameter that matters to DC/WB. Before the reboot, Superman was selling around an average of 43000 units and Action Comics around 35000 units. Post reboot, Superman has been selling and average of 47000 units and AC around 43000. So it has not been a dazzling success, but I would hardly call it a failure. Superman is where he has always been for the past couple of decades.. Maybe a slight improvement in terms of sales. But still a far cry from his glory days.

It deserves no more and no less hate then some other popular shonens like DBZ, Naruto, Bleach, One Piece etc. However FT does seem to play the Nakama Power card a bit too much. I used to be a big fan of these when i was younger. Then i discovered Cowboy Bebop and Gurren Lagann.
