Peanuts comic strip seen by...

Back from Angoulême, with some Peanuts surprise for you. During 4 days, we celebrated the 60th anniversary of the famous comic strip by Charles M. SCHULZ by asking each artist we’ve met to draw his / her own vision of Peanuts. Actually it wasn’t as easy as it seemed, some people around the Net sent me their vision too during the week, and we even manage to get some done at the Paris Manga & Sci-Fi Show during the week-end, but I’ll only add them tomorrow once scanned by Nonö, so don’t forget to come back.

So here’s the gallery, feel free to visit websites under drawings if you wanna discover more about each artist. Hope you’ll enjoy, and don’t forget to leave a comment

PS : If you feel like drawing some Peanuts after watching this gallery, you can still send me your vision by mail and I’ll add it with the others.

I find a few of those to be rather disturbing...

Most of them are great though.  The Snoopy Vs. Popeye one is my favorite.

@M.S. Feather: The Snoopy vs Popeye one is made by a friend of mine, he'll be happy to know that ^^

why don't you add them here. You'll get more replies.

@emptytomb: because we're websites too and we need people to come and check what we're doing out there ;)

+ I don't want to add those images to my profile, they were done for the website, not me ;)

@Claire_Comixity: you had me at peanuts, one of my favorite memories of being a kid was chilling with snoops.
Also got even more intrigued as to what feather could find disturbing :)
I'll admit, Snoopy getting beat up throws me off a tad, never mind losing his skin, but he's a tough mutt. I'm sure Woodstock is gonna get his back.
All in all, what a treat, thank you for sharing. I miss hanging out with the peanuts gang.

@tonis: I'm huge fan of Peanuts and I was so glad I could do this with all the artists I've met ;)

much agreed, both on being a fan and you doing this :)
hope these characters somehow find more life in the new age without Schulz, kids kind of need these guys in their cartoon diet.

@tonis:  It's just that when you go to browse a gallery celebrating one of histories most beloved strips, you wouldn't normally expect to come across a sketch of one of its characters corpses rotting in the sun or getting sucker punched (presumably by the artist).  Considering the purpose of this collection I just found some of the content in these images to be a bit jarring.

oh I agree, the frosted side of me definitely weeped as the wheat got it's turn in those regards.
If that makes any sense, if there's anyone out there I'd expect to get it, it'd be you on snoops ;)

@M.S. Feather: we said to artists to draw their own vision of Peanuts, so yes, maybe some can be disturbing, but that's probably what the artist was aiming for, this kind of irony ;)

And as I said, I'm a huge fan and I find all of this really funny ^^

with todays audience one should have a rather diverse expectation level as to potential submissions and the psyche behind it. We're in the age of imagination gone wild.
The good thing overall is, imagination still exists, no matter how I try to filter it :)

If you wanna comment on each picture, we've got a Facebook page ;)

And I keep adding some drawings...
