I'm canceling my DC comics subscriptions until this @#$* is cleaned up. Self-loathing idiots with a hate on for the USA for whatever political reasons retcon marquee characters into little more than their own personal mouthpieces.

G-Man, you're being too light on DC. No one who loves a country renounces their citizenship in that country, ridding themselves of a voice in that government, through the vote, in the process. It's like saying, "I love Canada, but I'm cutting all ties with it so countries I give aid to won't think I'm acting as the Canadian government." SOOOO... going to apply for a visa next time you visit?

If this was what the 'no big deal' crowd claims, Superman could simply have said, "I don't represent, or act on behalf of, the US government: I wish to serve the world as well as my country. From now on, I will only act within the borders of countries that grant me citizenship as well, as a gesture of good faith, and of my respect for your sovereignty."

Renouncing his US citizenship, claiming Truth, Justice, and the American Way "just aren't enough anymore" ... what would it TAKE for you guys to call the writer on making Superman his Muppet mouthpiece? And this is not about liberal or conservative - People for the American Way is a liberal organization, but you don't see them hating on the concept and changing their name,

>>sorry, renouncing their membership<<

Next issue: Superman gripes that President Obama shouldn't have killed Bin Laden, and "patriotically" burns his Selective Service card...   :/
