The Whole Family Loves Snoopy (Comic Ads #42)

Comic Ads are more than just the mountain of Hostess Ads we know and love. Over the years, many a company has used one page comic ads to shill their products in the pages of comic books! So I thought I'd do a list series that showcases those ads, and shows you what issues I've found them in. To me, these are as much a part of comics history as any superhero, and I love 'em for the nostalgia they bring. I hope they do the same for you. Enjoy.
The Eager Beaver Pencil Sharpener: my version of a fancy pencil sharpener. (I still have this!)

Not much to say about this one. "The Whole Family Loves Snoopy?" I think everybody loves Snoopy. I never had one of these that I can recall- I've always had the old fashioned plastic ones that have a little razor blade set in plastic.

The closest I came to having a "fancy" pencil sharpener was one that looked like a beaver, but it was still a manual sharpener.

This one looks like fun, but really, once you run a couple pencils down to the eraser without using them, just to see the machine sharpen them, the novelty wears off, and you use them only as the tool they were meant to be. Still a cute thing for kids though.

Here's some pics of the actual sharpener, and an additional ad that I ran across in my Internet search but haven't seen in a comic yet:

Who can resist pushing a pencil down to a nub with one of those contraptions? Your Eager Beaver is really nice.

(oh, and in the second ad you provided, the kid is left-handed! little things I notice, I know...)

@lykopis: They just eat the pencils so easily! And I'm surprised that the beaver has survived over the years, but it is indeed still around.
