Classy Crashers (Comic Ads #44)

No Caption Provided
Comic Ads are more than just the mountain of Hostess Ads we know and love. Over the years, many a company has used one page comic ads to shill their products in the pages of comic books! So I thought I'd do a list series that showcases those ads, and shows you what issues I've found them in. To me, these are as much a part of comics history as any superhero, and I love 'em for the nostalgia they bring. I hope they do the same for you. Enjoy.

Classic boys portrayed in this ad: "They're models of the world's most expensive cars! Let's smash 'em up!" Revved with a plastic T-stick (which I recall being remarkably durable to just be cheap plastic) you let these things fly at each other, watch 'em smash to pieces, put 'em back together, and do it all over again. I never had any of these. I think I may have known someone who did at some point, but don't recall for sure. I recall the T-sticks from similar types of revved toys.

Here's some pics:

Aww, I really like the premise behind this toy. So simple and yet can really grab the attention of kids with the whole smash thing going on and then getting to put the cars back together. You gotta love the names of the "classy" vehicles as well -- Luxury Limo and Sedan Royale.

I am really enjoying this series - so cool getting to see how adverts looked back then in comics.

@lykopis: Thanks. The next one is going to be similar, and the cars in that one have even funnier names. :)
