"Hey man! You got any juice?"

^^^Wasn't sure who this was coming from or what it was about. Other than that, just some minor quibbles with sort of contradicting statements, but nothing big. Good story so far though. :)

@stumpy49er: They started out in notebooks lol. Unfortunately, my computer is just as cluttered as my notebooks and paper files ever were. I transfer to a thumb drive so I can take it with me somewhere, update the file on the thumb drive, transfer it back to the computer without deleting the old stuff. Then I change computers, so I transfer everything to thumb drives and transfer it to the new computer. Then I update and blah blah blah multiple times, and next thing I know, I've got multiple folders with the same thing in them, but I really need to go through them, and uggggghhhhhhh. :P :}

@4donkeyjohnson: Is there more? Was this supposed to be an RPG? Still trying to figure out what this was.

The Origins Behind the Origins (or how some of these characters got their names):

Arnie

Named after my mom's second ex-husband. He actually did work in casinos in Vegas for a number of years. When I needed someone manning the roulette table, I thought of him, and said, "Sure, why not?"

Pennyworth

I needed a butler, so I named him after the best one in fiction that I know: Alfred Pennywoth. Just a loving nod to a favorite character.

Wally

On recent re-reading of this story, I actually thought he was an actual character in the Fallout-verse, but I see that I have him listed under my OC's. I don't remember why I named the ghoul Wally. Probably just random on my part.

Raymond Gunn & "unnamed American"

wordplay: "ray gun." When I first came up with Raymond Gunn, I had the idea that he was smarter than the world could keep up with, and he requested that he be put into cryogenic sleep until the world had caught up to him.

Trying to get a jump on that, the Russians try to steal his cryo chamber so they can revive him, and make him develop super-technology for them. An American agent that I named Will Travel would recover his body, fighting off all enemies. I had dubbed the story "Have Gunn: Will Travel" after the Western, "Have Gun, Will Travel."

I've lost interest in that story for the most part, but I used the bare bones for Roulette's backstory. Gunn has changed so much in my notes that "Have Gunn: Will Travel" is unlikely.

Roulette

When I thought of "Have Gunn: Will Travel," I knew that I wanted the Russians to be the ones trying to get Gunn's cryo chamber, but I never actually named any Russian agents. Until I got here, and needed a way for someone from the present to get to the post-apocalyptic future of Fallout. Enter: Roulette, because: "Russian roulette" - that dangerous "game" where you load a gun and take turns pulling the trigger at your head until someone dies. In-story, that's how she got the name, but her version is pointing it at someone and pulling the trigger until they tell her what she wants or do what she wants, or they die.

House, The

Nice and simple: The House is named after Fallout character Mr. House.

That's all for now! Thanks for reading. :^D

@stumpy49er: Yeah, they're sitting around on my hard drive doing nothing, so I thought I'd put them out there. I may tie them in here and there. Just seeing what comes up.

Raven, from Renaissance Comics
Raven, from Renaissance Comics

@impurestcheese: I wish I could say this was a thinly disguised story about myself, but alas, 'tis not. The comic to the right was called "Raven," and I had a copy of it, because the creators appeared at my LCS at the time of its release. I later butchered a bunch of my comics, cutting out frames that I thought would be interesting story starters. There were a few frames from Raven in all of that mess, and if I run across them in one of my many piles of junk that need to be gone through, I'll scan them and add them to this story. But that's what happened here- I used a panel from this comic as inspiration to start my story, and the OP is what I wound up with. :)
