We all have trade paperback (TPB) collections we'd like to see. Here's one of mine:
| Proposed Title: | Green Lantern: Mosaic, Vol. 1. |
| Alternate Title: | Green Lantern: Origin of the Mosaic. |
| TPB Cover: | GL #14. |
| Collecting 11 Issues: | Green Lantern (1990) #13-17; Green Lantern: Mosaic #1-6. |

| Proposed Title: | Green Lantern: Mosaic, Vol. 2. |
| Alternate Title: | Green Lantern: Mosaic. |
| TPB Cover: | GL:M #18. |
| Collecting 12 Issues: | Green Lantern: Mosaic #7-18. |
Covers (click to enlarge):
Some six years after The Thing wandered Battleworld, in Rocky Grimm, Space Ranger, John Stewart patrolled the Mosaic, on Oa. The first TPB would collect the first eleven issues of that story, from a new beginning in Green Lantern #13, to the four issue "Mosaic" story arc in GL #14-17, to GL: Mosaic #1-6. The second TPB would collect Green Lantern: Mosaic #7-18. For the covers, I'd go with Green Lantern #14, for Volume One, and Green Lantern: Mosaic #18, for Volume 2. They're both shots of John Stewart towering over others. That seems appropriate for where the story goes.
I always thought Green Lantern: Mosaic was a cool title, but at the time, I think it got cut a little short. Stewart evolved into something a little more than human, and it seemed like that was supposed to go somewhere, but instead, it wrapped up with #18 - just a month after the destruction of Coast City, and two months before Hal went over the edge in Emerald Twilight... In fact, now that I look at the timing of it, I'm left wondering if John Stewart wasn't heading towards becoming Parallax, before DC decided to have Hal fill that role, in connection with Reign of the Supermen. I always thought it was weird that Green Lantern was involved with Reign, so it being a sudden change from where Mosaic was going would make a lot of sense to me... I could be wrong, of course. Either way, I'd love to see these two TPB's come out, collecting the whole Mosaic saga.
Would you buy it? Let me know in the comments, and thanks for reading.

Update 11/1/12: Okay, I did WUBI #81 for Green Lantern: A Guy & His Gnort yesterday, and realized I had screwed up for the GL: Mosaic trades. I originally had Green Lantern #4-8 included in the first volume, and had the two volumes at 14 issues apiece, but the existing TPB, Green Lantern: The Road Back, already collects GL (1990) #1-8. So there is no need to collect those issues again. I deleted 4-8, and split the remaining issues up so that Volume 1 has 11 issues, and Volume 2 has 12 issues. GL #13 is a "double-sized spectacular," so the two volumes would be about the same size. With issues 4-8 gone, I debated whether to keep #13, since that leaves it as the only issue not marked "Mosaic," or whether I should move it to the end of the GL: A Guy & His Gnort TPB. I decided that since the cover to #13 implies the beginning to a new direction, and it does include John Stewart, I would leave it as the start to GL: Mosaic, Volume 1.
