* NO COBRA! You are creating a G.I Joe, a hero. So no double agent or sleeper agents for the bad guys.

*NO RELATIONS! No sons of Snake Eyes or cousins of Duke or anything like that. It’s a new Joe without blood or marriage ties to any other Joe or Cobra. Even next door neighbours, foster kids, ex-lovers just in case. We need some new blood!

It's simple we uh take a powerful fear, it can be yours, someone else or a contemporary issue, then give it form. It can be an alien, group or any entity you desire, as long as it represents a fear. This will be the antagonistic force of your science-fiction story. Then take a hope to counter the fear and turn that into your story's protagonist force, it can have any form. You can add characters but they must be used to support fear or hope, and the conclusion is your answer to the conflict between a specific fear and hope.

P.S. Setting, class/status, desire, or any element of significance can also be used to draw contrast between the good and antagonist force.

New year, new competition!

It’s 2015, the year of Back To The Future II! So to celebrate that I want a time travel story with of course some conditions...

1. An odd original device that causes the time travel. Like a Hot Tub or DeLorean or phonebox but these as you may have guessed have already been taken, so think up your own!
2. Anywhere in the past you like but only in a backwards direction. So if you want to bounce around fine but it’s for eg: 1965, 1886 then 428BC not 1886, 1965 then 1900. One direction and it’s backwards so they ain’t coming back from their excellent or bogus journey.

In comic books, some characters believe that “With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility,” whereas others find that “With Great Power Comes Great Perks,” leaving those who lack power to often believe that “Power Corrupts.”

For this contest you will be creating a story about power; more specifically, a story involving a protagonist and antagonist’s relationship with their discovered superpower. Unlike most other CCC's this will require creating two original characters, both either having the same superpower or very similar powers. Use your creativity to show how the power can be used for good or evil. Shazam and Black Adam, Wolverine and Sabretooth, Spiderman and Venom, or the Flash and Zoom are all good examples of what I'm describing.

I thought of the catchy theme "The Devil You Know"

The premise is simple. Write about how you imagine the Devil, Lucifer, King Of Hell, Boss Demon type of mythological character and create a character that embodies what you believe to be The Devil. Maybe he can be a mischievous trickster? A slick hustler? Or maybe even a horrifying creature? I don't know its up to you!
