I read somewhere Thor and likewise characters appear to viewer as they imagine them. Thor appears to Americans in most Marvel comics, and comes off a hodgepodge of various ingrained perceptions to them. Hence the answer to another question running around here about Zeus's size (Odin has been perceived as scaled up before as well). Really I find the whole belief that deities speak a specific accent or even language fallacious as it is, and at best a deities native tongue would likely be a form of communication beyond humanity all together. When was the last time anyone talked to them and documented this? Furthermore, doesn't it add up that if say Thor, came up to whomever here right now, he would present himself in whatever way your own mind interpreted and accepted him? And in speaking in whichever dialect was appropriate? As far as just language is concerned, characters rarely speak any language except an English dialect, other than the <translated from X_language in brackets> as Marvel comics are produced in the United States, ala " The Universal Translator ". Unless of course your comic is translated in Spanish. Then Thor speaks Spanish. Hmmm....
I'm for this, even depending on how limited it ends up being, that's still more than none and with a few people who said here already that hopefully they'll use the chance to address a few plot points and character development issues (particularly but not limited to the lingering Horseman deal) tied to Gambit that have been left flapping in the wind for far to long. Plus he's Gambit, and he's awesome, that reason is good enough. On another hand I would have liked to have seen this slot dedicated to a character that hasn't had a chance and deserves one, but again, theres things about Gambit that need to be done. I do think that they wouldn't have decided to do something with Gambit if they didn't have a really good idea for a story in the first place, and that's hopeful. He's very popular, but not much more than the next X-character and really doesn't warrant a cash cow at this point in time, so I don't see it as a money making ploy, but more plausible that someone has a really great idea, at least in the eyes of Marvels creative brass and editorial side of things, and they decided they needed to produce it and share it with the readership. I'm applying the same mentality to the upcoming Ms.Marvel series for that matter. Usually the left field stuff from Marvel ends up being the best to read as far as I'm concerned.

What the...this isn't the future? This is some hillbilly and bigot infested trailer park! Oh wait San Dimas time, dial another 1. Right, right. I see the problem now.

I'm sure it's been tread (not reading all that) but 616 Rogue and Magneto having an offspring wouldn't necessarily come out genetically as Magnus from Exiles. In most scenarios two characters have a different offspring in a different reality genetically (yet the original characters parents almost always produce the exact same offspring...I'm not here to argue comic science Vs real, anyways...). Like for example Rogue and Magneto in Age Of Apocalypse had a child named Charles who wasn't the same person as Magnus. The easier route to go to get your character back would be to revive the Exiles characters, whom are already connected to 616 and could just as well again, and bring Magnus back to life/pull him from the time stream, ect.
