@keenko: With you there. Its an badly written choose your own adventure book at best. There is so much that can be done with storytelling in this medium and that's what she did with the resources she had XD

@ms-lola: I agree completely with you on the research part of your reply. The link I provided was meant as a jump off point. There is a lot of information available and it can be very daunting if you are new to whats going on.
With regards to the journalists mailing list I have made a conscious effort to look through it and see where the people on it stand on this debate. There are people on there I respect and who have been rational and calm the whole way through. But there is a lot of proof that journalists (Ben Kuchera comes to mind ) are using their position on the list to censor discussion on sites they have nothing to do with and the level of general disrespect to their target audience is frankly bonkers!
Regarding the notyourshield tag. If the plan was for it was to be used by sockpuppets to pad the argument that is definitely not the case anymore. Just a browse at the tag shows that. Also the opinions of the person who created the tag matter not in my opinion. Everybody has opinions that other people find unsavoury and that should not diminish the points that they are putting across. That is attacking the person and not the argument and stifles a solid debate on things that need to be talked about. This quote sums it up for me. "To err is human; to forgive, divine." - Alexander Pope
That is the funny thing about hashtags being used. Either side can use them to strengthen or ruin the good things that have been said. Also if you fancy a giggle look at the writeakotakuarticle tag, some good satire in there.
@ms-lola: Considering that a lot of sites don’t want anything at all to do with this, and a lot of censorship has gone on with this delicate situation on other websites. It’s happened on 4chan and Reddit to name just two. I wanted to make sure that what I was saying was not going to get the thread locked as its a good thing that this thread exists. I added the only mod who has been active in this discussion as I felt that was the best course of action.
Hope that clears my actions for you :D
@ms-lola: @bumpyboo Just out of interest where do you stand on the fact many of the "white knights" games journalists that have promoted her work have provided monthly payments in the past to Zoe Quinn through Patereon which I think we can both agree is a massive conflict of interests. Proof in the link on my previous post if you are inclined.
Oh and the fact that she destroyed a game jam designed to help women produce games by doxxing the site with her connections. Again proof in my link. Quinn is not relevant but she is also not at any point clean in this situation.
Finally notyourshield was started by this guy https://twitter.com/j_millerworks. Not rabid channers.
I wanted a mod to see what I'm writing as this is a very delicate situation and I wanted to make sure I was breaking no rules.
Hello all just thought I’d add my opinion on this.
Firstly Zoe Quinn is not really that important in the grand scheme of things, she has just highlighted how big a problem the relationships that game devs and journalists have on pushing a narrative. I dont know if its just me but I don't care what she does in her personal life that's her business.
But when 10 different articles drop on the same day attacking the people who line their pockets that's not cool. When websites who are allowing discussion are getting DDOS attacks and people in the industry are getting fired on both sides of the argument because of phonecalls from frothy mouthed nutjobs that’s incredibly not cool.
One of things that I have always loved about gaming is its an inclusive space. I can hop on to a game of Battlefield or do some PVP on Dark Souls and know that I am going to have a good time competing against people of all ages and abilities. If you are good enough at a game you will receive respect. You're always going to have to deal with trolls but thats the internet. XD
Also if you want more information on whats been going on try this page.
Enjoy gaming everybody in the end that's all gamers want to do :D
@rev_sulphur: Saw them in Leeds when Miss Machine came out. Almost 10 years ago 0_0. People were up the lighting rig and I ended up crowd surfing on a camping chair XD
The last album is good, they seem to be getting back to what makes them awesome.
