G-Man, pink robots in the 70's are a stretch? In an era of the 70'a If Millar is serious about the "X-Men meets Terminator" description, why not actually make it the X-Men's version of Terminator? Just assuming Forge was never used in the original trilogy, he could be introduced as being manipulated by Boliviar Trask to patent the Sentinel design. Trask is funding Friends for Humanity, led by Cameron Hodge. Cable would visit to prevent the bleak future these two extremists inadvertently created. Going the Ultimate route, Cable is actually an old Wolverine, and his posse from the future could include Bishop, Rachel Summers and an adult Kitty Pride. Just like Looper, the DoFP film could be less about the time travel and more about the multitude of decisions and consequences that fill our lives; allowing both the Professor and Magneto to consider their new roles as leaders among mutantkind and the crucial choices that come with it.

Loeb seems utterly convinced that Ultimate Spider-Man is the greatest thing since sliced bread. The art even looks like the show's animation style! (Not to say that's bad...the animation is one of the few good things, next to--some of--the voice work. I don't put myself in the group that spits acid when discussing the show, but just see it as major disappointment, wasted potential to put out something quirky, edgy or "unique".)

This isn't a replacement to Rider, is it? You know, so more diversities can be put out? (I assume that's the reason Rider wasn't used in the first place on Ultimate, or Loeb had this series in mind when he created the character) What's the status on Rider, anyway? Didn't he sacrifice himself to kill Thanos for good? And now Thanos is back in Avengers Assemble. Was it just martyrdom in vain, just so a new Nova can be brought in? Come on, that's not necessary; just pull a Green Lantern and have multiple Novas.

So Vanilla Ice made a random appearance to start a turtle Gangnam dance, but Jason Biggs couldn't make it? I guess he's just so busy with...*Beavis & Butt-head snicker*...his career.

What Evans is expressing is essentially the constant dilemma of the Hollywood actor. On one hand, you become insanely rich and a cultural icon, but eventually you can end your career as a tentpole for otherwise mediocre films. Reading through this, I think he's just worried of the threat of getting the Superman Curse without even being Superman. When his casting was just announced, I remember an interview quote saying, "If this movie tanks, I'm f*cked! If it hits, I'm f*cked!" If you're an actor who loves making movies (Which it sounds he does) there is a teetering balance on the choice of roles to keep success going as long as possible.

As for the complaint of packing it on at the gym, I hope he's joking. With the job obligations I have, I wish I had someone that would haul my ass up everyday and get me ripped on a superhero-level scale.

Despite Bruce saying this himself in Batman Beyond, I don't believe when he literally thinks in his head, he refers to himself as "Batman" instead of "Bruce" (Such a statement probably just came from senility anyways). The way I always saw it, Bruce was disillusioned over Bruce Wayne the as a concept or public figure, that prevented him from genuinely expressing himself. His personality traits that could not be accepted in a normal sense, and his status and the way people regarded him held him back. By putting on a mask and cape, those inner feelings can be attached to another face with completely different expectations, and in that Bruce feels more comfortable and true to who he feels is his true identity and his expressions.

While this rings true for Bruce beginning as Batman, I would like to see the dots connected to what I saw in Batman #1. Here, he is young, confused, and in a bit of an identity crisis. Later on here appears moe balanced in his life as both Batman and Bruce Wayne (The establishment of Batman Inc. probably helped); now he realizes he can contribute to his ultimate goal of curing Gotham of crime as both figures. That shows a more well-rounded hero, but this new, flawed portrayal is equally appealing.

In my mind, Daredevil is the quintessential example of an average man in an extraordinary world. Frank Miller recognized this in the 80's; I remember him saying something like, "[Vigilantism] isn't something a normal guy would do, so you need to create someone whose passions run so deep they're willing to make drastic decisions for what they believe in." Murdock adopted his Daredevil persona out of outrage of the criminals that can slip through the loopholes of the law, and it manifested out of admiration of bigger heroes like Spider-Man or the Fantastic Four. He's a man who believes in justice yet also has a big dose of morality in what he's doing, an incredibly complex character and my all-time favorite superhero.

A story that could blend in this complexity as well as making an exciting legal/crime drama hybrid would be great. There must have been some confusion with the last film, and while I did like some aspects of it, it was just another action movie. I felt the same issue with Guy Richie's Sherlock Holmes movies. It looked like Carnahan had that idea, but I don't a similar project is thrown out the window just because the rights are soon to be included in Marvel's stellar yet black-and-white Cinematic Universe. Just have mention of the Avengers in the background so the costume thing doesn't seem so absurd (Speaking of which, ditch the red leather getup), and distribute the film under Disney's mature label Touchstone Pictures. Ideally, I would love that upcoming Marvel-related TV project for Joss Whedon would be for the Man Without Fear. So far they've been able to get down the pathos to all these Marvel characters; now let's do that and at the same time build more than a "good guy fights bad guy" story within.

By the way, Ryan Gosling is long overdue for some sortof superhero role; he could be stellar as Matt Murdock.

@Booster_Bronze: Actually, back in high school when I was struggling to craft a fan-fic "Ultimate DC Universe", I rewrote it that Thomas Wayne Jr. WAS Hush! Blending the two characters together worked well, but even if it could actually exist, it looks like Snyder took the shock value of using an obscure character from the 70's. As for the people who think bringing that aforementioned character back, at that point we're getting into the often legthy debate about the relevancy of comic-books. Without getting into too much detail, I agree with the idea of bringing back unused characters of yore; what's the point of introducing your own character to fit your story when, with enough digging, you can discover a smaller character that can easily fit the profile?

Really? I'm amazed there hasn't been enough buzz about what's truly going to happen in IM3. Three-forths of the film is set to begin production in my hometown (Wilmington, NC) this summer. I'd expected such a colossal blockbuster project to already have some leaks by now. I mean, from IM2's progression, didn't we already know Whiplash was the villain by now? Then again, maybe plot details are being kept under wraps for good reason; we don t want the (presumably) last entry in the trilogy to fall flat, unable to live up to the hype. Now, I'm the one who always mocks the whole speculation thing to his non-comic reading friends, but here it goes anyway: Mandarin, duh, although I don't know how the whole "alien ring" thing will go. At the risk of pilling on too many characters like the last one, the lesser-known Madame Masque would be an interesting addition, a mercenary possibly hired by Mandarin to seduce Tony and steal his secrets.

Way back when the New 52 was still...new, G-Man commented that if Cyborg was an answer to divirsify the Justice League, that's largely unnecessary: A super-group that has an alien, Atlantian and Amazonian? Just like he said, the Justice League isn't filled with white Americans. But I'm trying to have a more well-rounded look on this outrage over a lack of Martian Manhunter. While I join in the argument that blending Wildstrom with mainstream DC was pointless, I'll agree that if Stormwatch must exist in DC, it would make sense for Manhunter to be a member. Now, I've only read the first issue of the new Stormwatch, but in it J'onn says " I am known in some quarters as a hero. I can wear that shape. But when I need to be a warrior, I do it with Stormwatch." What I gathered from that is that he feels so strongly about his own world perishing that he can go to any length to make sure his adopted homeworld doesn't suffer a similar fate. Where Stormwatch was when Darkseid tried to destroy Earth was anyone's guess, but while Stormwatch views super-heroes with contempt, there's no denying they have some merit in protecting the Earth. We know by now that Jo'nn joins the League later on; perhaps he mentally prearranged all the heroes to meet at the exact moment to team up and challenge Darksied's arrival? We'll all have to find out. But in terms of whether or not there was a previous, "classic" iteration of the Titans, the trouble seems just to be continuity and a lack of communication between writers. Arsenal suggests there was a Teen Titans in the Outlaws, Tim Drake claims he invented it now, ugh, why are continuity troubles happennening in 2012, especially in the New 52, when there was a heap of expectations for it not to happen?

Perhaps it was just a summer of having nothing to do that grew some otherwise over-inflated expectations for the New 52, but out of all the issues I have managed to collect so far, ACTION COMICS really fufilled my desires for a new kind of Superman. The improvosational look--T-Shirt, jeans, and boots--is a great look for a Supes just starting out, and while there was a debate over Clark Kent's worry about alienating himself due to his fantastic powers, Grant Morrison doesn't seem to write or think the same way as J. Michael Kryzinski (Did I spell his name right?).

This was a very gug-ho adventure, the kind that comicbooks are supposed to be. I've come to realize that my high school years of reading comics has been spoiled; I've always read story arcs in paperback collections, where the anticipation to getting to the conclusion came only as fast as i could turn the page. As a result, even though some books I've gotten, such as STORMWATCH or BATWING have been excellent, they were very short and didn't seem to fufull a whole summer of speculation. ACTION, on the other hand, worked great: We get a glimpse of Superman that's new yet familiar, we see the constrasts of how this new universe will play out, and there is, in my opinion, a great balance of action and dialouge that satisfies the script (I've always found that in some action-heavy books, such as SUPERMAN, weren't as satisfactory). Right now, my library computer clock is blinking, so I just want to say I like Morrison's new direction, and can;'t wait to see where it will go next.
